Yeah I know it can be very frustrating, just remember this is your day! At the end of the day your marrying the man that you will spend the rest of your life with and as long as he is there that's all that should matter.  Your day will be as good as you  make it, dont sweat the small stuff, I hear it all and I just brush it off, I just tell myself Brandy you will be in a beautiful location with your close family and friends marrying the man of your dreams and its going to be a blast!!!!!  I asked 3 girls to be my bridemaids and 2 of them arent coming, the third is my FI sister and she is of course coming, and the same goes with my FI he asked 3 and probably the only one going will be my brother, these people keep acting like they are coming but I know deep down they are not, but I dont let it bother me.

I totally hear you on the frustrating part!  My MOH hasn't booked yet either...  in the back of my mind I've been waiting for her to tell me she isn't coming for the past few months - I've already decided who my "replacement bridesmaid" will be lol.

It'll be sad if she can't make it cause she's my best friend, but at the same time I'll be fine with her decision to not come as long as she just gets on with it and tells me!  I totally agree with you Brandy - in the end the only people that matter are me and my FI, and everyone else that comes is an added bonus.

I just wish people would be honest instead of wasting our time. If you're coming, book the trip. If you're not, for whatever reason, I understand. The rest of my planning is on hold until we get some real numbers from people that have booked. I try to encourage our wedding party to book now because of the dollar parity, but no one seems in any rush. How are we supposed to order dresses and suits if you haven't booked?

It's the same thing with losing weight. FMIL and MoH tell me they want to lose weight, we've been warning you of the impending wedding for over a year. If you haven't started yet, don't expect miracles.

I don't want to have to find replacement bridesmaids. I actually looked at the list of witnesses that our resort provides and thought, hmmm.... who will ever see the marriage cert and ask who is that.

Thanks guys, my thing is if she has a tough pregnancy and her husband isn't coming she will be there alone with her 4 year old.  And there will be nobody that's is going to help her and I can't say that I will be able to either. And she did have problems with her first pregnancy so that can be a factor.

But I am tired of excused from everybody else. I don't really need to hear it...if you are coming come...if not thats ok too.

That is definitely one of the hardest, if not the hardest parts of planning a DW, the waiting and dealing with the "stories" from potential guests.  I agree with what you ladies have already stated, if you are coming just book, and if you are not that's ok, but don't pretend that you are.  By draggin the process out people do not realize how frustrating it can be for the couple trying to plan and arrange numbers.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
