Thanks Ellabaja I hope my next experience is better, I think it will be better than Davids Im sure, they should really train their employees to be more people-friendly!

lsmith - welcome and congrats!!  You've found a great board with some really great people!!!

Regarding Brandy's experience....  I'm just really glad that I didn't go to David's Bridal after hearing this and other stories.  I have heard from some coworkers that went to one of their shops locally and I heard that they just were pleasant to deal with.  In our area because it's so small, we have 3 different shops to really choose from, unless we go on a road trip to another state...  Hopefully your next trip will be better Brandy!!

Wow Brandy - I can't believe she offered to open the store for you!  Hard to compare that customer service to David's!  Hopefully you find "the one" there, cause it's those kind of people that you want to give your business to...

I know I'm going to be hot in my dress too - it's taffeta, but it's a way lghter tafetta than most...  It actually felt lighter than some of the chiffon dresses I tried, cause those had sooo many layers.  But some of the dresses they pulled for me where ridiculous - I felt like I could hardly walk they weighed me down so much!  If they make me sweat in the air conditioned shop, I can't imagine them on the beach - heat stroke on my wedding day doesn't seem like a good time!!!

Brandy - I've been to about 10 different dress shops. I can't find anything that makes me feel excited about getting married, so I keep looking. I ordered a custom dress from China, but I haven't seen it so I don't know if it will be the dress. I figure it will be good for the reception or even TTD. But I am still looking for a special "wow" dress for the ceremony.

Tonight, I am going to a dress shop that agreed to stay open late just for me, so hopefully....

Thanks Brandy and Lua - It's very frustrating. Especially since I am away from home and don't have anyone to go shopping with me sad.gif I went a few times before I left home, but didn't have much luck there either. Most of the dresses I have tried on would have one thing I liked about them but that's all. That's why I decided to have the custom made one just in case.

Thanks Lua - I am working in Regina right now. So most of my wedding planning and discussion is being done over the internet. Poor FI. I had a really good experience shopping last night. The bridal shop manager was fabulous and really helped a lot. I didn't find a dress, but showed her the dress I had made and she told me to stop worrying because I would love that one.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
