Teira - I think the build-a-bear is a little too young for your brother (though I love the idea!).  I have always liked the idea of doing the shirt for the ring bearer...  that allows him to look extra cool and special around the resort.  I really like the idea of the treasure box that mocha mentioned...  but maybe incorporate it into something he likes... something he's into...

Lua - How did your engagement pictures go yesterday??  It rained here all weekend but the clouds broke up and the sun came out yesterday around 1:30... which was wonderful because our pictures were at 2PM!  So, we had a really nice hour and 45 minute session!  It made me realize that 1) I'm really glad we are doing a small destination wedding and 2) I'm so glad that we are bringing our photographer with us to Mexico because she is SO much fun!!!

Good morning to everyone else!  I hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Ellabaja - the engagement shoot yesterday was INCREDIBLE!! we couldn't have had a better picture perfect day. BLUE sky with the sun shining and it was actually warm. :)  We took shots in so many different places around town including inside a corn field, on some train tracks, down by the lake, in a park, and my favourite on this one street filled with colourful trees.  I think we may have gotten an incredible shot with leaves falling down around us.  The photographer, who's my FI's friend, was a BLAST to work with and she was so enthusiastic making us both even more excited to see the final results.  She wouldn't even show us 1 teaser so we're anxiously awaiting for her to edit them and give us a cd. :)  The shoot lasted about 2.5 hrs and was filled with lots of smooching and tons of laughs.  and the best part??? she did it all for us for FREE!!! :) ... and an even better part? she's seriously thinking of coming along to Jamaica to shoot the wedding for free as well!!! *fingers crossed* lol

thanks for this!!! :)

I think i'll just bite the bullet and order. If I don't like how they look for my bouquet, I could always just use them as decoration at our AHR.

calla yellow.gifThese look really good and feel very real.

calla orange.gif These are a little small and might get swallowed up with the yellow. The colour is not as bright as the picutre, closer to the inside of a pumpkin. We're going to use as boutonnieres. These would be okay in bouquets if there was twice as many. But for the price difference will be trying to get full size not mini.

orchid.pngNot real touch and you can tell. But they would still look fine as filler in bouquets. I may use them in centerpieces.

So I will now be trying to find the full size calla bouquet in orange or pink. Everyone only stocks the mini.

Lua - I'm so glad you had a great day!!!  That's so exciting! I can't believe she did it for free, that's so awesome!!!  Where in Ontario are you?  (I don't know what GTA is.)  I've been up there a few different times, mainly to go to Toronto/Niagara Falls and we stayed in Mississauga both times.  I've also gone through Canada to drive over to Detriot.  We did ours at a place called Shelburne Farms here, and it was great!  We were right on the lake, but then also had a nice rose garden and a few historical buildings to work with!  The options were endless.  She showed us pretty much all of the pictures before we left, but I can't wait until she posts them online for us to see!!

That would be awesome if she went to Jamaica!  Is she just starting out as a photographer??

GTA -otherwise known as the Greater Toronto Area.  I'm about 1hr East of Toronto right along Lake Ontario.

I'm jealous that you guys got to see your pics!  Our photographer was so excited after every shot she took but refused to let us see them until she has them edited exactly to her liking!  I can only hope we get to see them asap! :)

Could you imagine if we got free wedding pics as well? it would be amazing!  She is young and just starting out.  FI had gone back to school several years ago to make a career chagne and met her there. I think she's only about 21 or 22. So much talent!

That area is beautiful up there, so I'm sure you had great options for your pictures!!!  Did she say when you might get to see them?  I would be so anxious if I hadn't gotten to see them after our shoot!
That wiould be amazing if you could get your wedding pictures for free as well!!!  I thought we were getting a good deal because our photographer's prices are less than 1/2 the prices most other photographers in our area charge.  This last summer was her first full summer doing weddings and such in our area, so she doesn't have all the experience yet, but she's still amazing!!  I actually went to high school with her, so I know her passion for her work as always been there!

Ellabaja - she's hoping to get us a cd with the pics this week or next.  FI said she's the type who is so passionate about her work that she probably went straight home after the shoot to start her editing process so we're really hoping to see them this week some time.

mocha - I want to get about 8 of these (to have extra) -- they're only .99 ea

And then two of these

media.nl?id=29578&c=642818&h=fd306adf52f1fc431b4b&resizeid=-2&resizeh=320&resizew=320

i only want maybe 5 of the gerbera daisies in the bouquet as a splash of blue.

although i'm thinking if maybe i should get one of these too to add some more omph?

i'll decide for sure after this weekend. I'm going to check out China Town in Toronto first. If I don't see anything there, then i'll place my Afloral order. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
