Welcome! Is Las Palapas in Playa del Carmen (sorry, it sounds familiar but I haven't heard much about it... )? If so, you're not too far from where I will be! Let me know if I can help you out with a photographer - it was one of the first things I booked for that exact reason you are saying, I know the good ones book up early!

Good luck, if that's all you have left to do it sounds like you are in good shape though! I feel like I have all the major things in place, but so many little details left to take care of... sigh.

We are flying in a Cantor from Florida for our 12/12 wedding. I think if you want a Mexican/local back-up, you would have to arrange that ahead of time. The closest available person might be in Mexico City - so that's still not close. I hear it's very difficult to find a rabbi for the Cancun area. There is a Cantor who seems to specialize in destination weddings near the Caribbean/Mexico. She is based out of Florida and she is very responsive....if you have any other questions, I suggest you contact her:

Only 2 months till December and I have so much to do still too!  And last week we decided to put an offer in on a house...and we got it!  Possession is in two weeks, so now between making OOT bags and programs, buying GM ties and deciding on flowers, music and menus we will be packing, moving and trying to get renters for our condo!!!  OMG! smile35.gif This is just crazy!   Is everyone else really prepared or do you all have lots left to do too?

Wow Lindsey that's crazy! Congrats on buying a house though!!!

I still have SO much to do, lots of little details. This week has been SUPER stressful as it's the last week our group booking is open. Total chaos. And we ended up losing some money on a room that wasn't filled - like I don't have enough stress. Feeling kinda bummed too about a number of very important people to me that have decided not to come. I'm trying to get in the mindset of "it's their loss", but it's hard, I'm still disappointed no matter what. We still have a pretty big group going though, so can't be too upset. Definitely makes me appreciate all those people that are coming that much more! I tried to make myself feel better (and more on top of things) by ordering some things for the wedding this week: chair sashes, table runners, and our maraca favors. Believe it or not, it worked! Still lots to do, but everytime I can check something off my list I can breathe a bit easier.

Thanks for the ideas about the rabbi, we called that person and she recommended someone else.

We just got our proofs for invitations, we are so late at sending them. But people already got the save the dates. Here is what I am using:

  • I am so thrilled about using Balance for our music - we will have a short salsa performance and we have been taking lessos for that !
  • Save the date designed by my fiance - he was so cute ! - and it was a picture we took in Tulum
  • Hand made plates we will give to our guests -  inspired in our wedding
  • Caligraphy designed in Mexico in Spanish and English - she was so flexible with us !
  • Wedding gown, Caroline by Monique Lhuillier - simmilar to this  http://www.wilgi.com/Dress4Sale/

  • Boot camp by power bootcamp new york - I lost 6 pounds - I am 112 now !
  • Mark Greenfiel - fiance suit in NY, he is sooo good !
  • Rehersal dinner TBD - I am still looking !

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
