    Hey Everyone,
I need help on choosing a resort in Cancun/Playa area. We were going to get married at Excellence Playa Mujeres. The guest list grew and now children are coming so we need a family friendly all-inclusive resort. Any suggestions for the best place? Also, are kids allowed to go to Adult only resorts just for the wedding? Or does it depend on the resort?

I recommend the hotel we're using. There's something for most age groups. The Gran Bahia Principe. It consists of the Coba, Akumal & Tulum all in one big property. Trip Advisor considers it #1 in Akumal.

HTH! Good luck picking your location!

Since i got married at the Gran Bahia Principe Akumal... I also vote for that!!! :)

But I just got back from photographing a wedding at the Barcelo Maya Palace and I must say that was a beautiful resort as well. And it is VERY child friendly.

We are getting married at the Royal Playa del Carmen. It is a 5 star adults only all inclusive.Next door is the Gran Porto Playa del Carmen, which is family friendly. (they are sister resorts). You have full rights to go to the Gran Porto at any time if you are staying at the Royal and, kids are allowed to attend the ceremony at the Royal and the reception (If you opt for the private reception, which is 10$ more a person). This would give you the leisure to see the families at your convenience and the opportunity for you to have them at your wedding and reception. (Of course for a small price).

Hope this helps out a little

excellence was my first choice as well but i realized that i needed to consider children. you should consider dreams cancun. it's a family friendly all-inclusive resort, great location and has a ton of great reviews here on the forum. good luck!

            Hi,
We picked a resort that is half adults only & half families. The best of both worlds. :) Look into Aventura Spa Palace. I'm getting married May 2010 and so far they have been great to work with. Good Luck Planning.

I can suggest Iberostar Paraiso lindo in PLaya del Carmen, Catalunia Riviera Maya in PLaya as well, these are all inclusive and family friendly also has nice sopots for photography!

            Hope I do help!

            Thanks!
