October Bride - Riviera Maya

Recommended Posts

I am getting married in the Riviera Maya at the Grand Velas this October. As I have absolutely no time to do much planning, I am hoping to get some good ideas here that will make my planning smoother.

While I have picked the resort, I still need to find a good Photographer, DJ and locations for off site activies (including cocktail board ride, rehersal dinner in Playa del Carmen, and day after brunch in Playa del Carmen).

Would love to get other ideas for activies as many of my guests will not be staying in the Grand Velas (too expensive) and I still want us to be able to do things together. I have already added a trip to the ruins.

Thanks so much!

You will find great information on this forum. Just search what you are looking for. I'm also getting married in the riviera maya and I'm using Del Sol as my photographer, I have heard amazing things about them and their works looks awesome. Good Luck Planning!

Congrats!

So great to finally find a bride planning a wedding at the Grand Velas! Maybe we can help each other?! I'm very familiar with Playa... and would love feedback on the Grand Velas since I'm hoping to have my wedding there next year.

For the rehersal dinner, I can suggest a few places but it really depends on how many guests you have. Let's see, Mosquito Blue is my favorite (best drinks!). Mosquito Beach would be a fun place for brunch after the wedding too. My best friend lived in Playa for 2 months, and she really liked 'La cueva del Chango' restaurant, she loved the food and decor inside the restaurant. Hope this helps a bit!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
