Congratulations and welcome to the forum. My fiance and I were in Roatan for a cruise stop a few months ago and I immediately fell in love with that place. It's so beautiful. Just an unspoiled tropical wonderland.

Wish I could help you more with suggestions for a resort. We did spend the majority of our day there at the Mayan Princess. It was simply breathtaking. Beautiful resort and what could be the prettiest beach I've seen in the Caribbean. It's spectacular. I do know though that, like we did, a lot of cruisers go there to spend the day while in port, so I'd say at times it might be a little more crowded than you'd like for a wedding. Although, it certainly never felt crowded when we were there, so maybe not. If you were interested in the Mayan Princess (Google it, they have a website) you could probably just schedule your wedding on a day when no cruise ships are in port.

Word of warning if you've never been to Roatan, watch out for the sand fleas! They're pretty abundant on the beaches there. But we just sprayed ourselves with bug spray (I just took whatever Target had on the shelves with the most Deet in it) and were never bitten. We could see them, but with the help of the Deet didn't get any bites.

Hi, congrats and welcome to the forum. I am not having my DW in Roatan but my FI and I were there a month ago and it is an amazing place. We saw the hotels and they were beautiful! Roatan is a paradise and the people are very wonderful, friendly and giving. I think you have made a wonderful choice. Good luck and happy planning!

Congrats! And welcome to the forum!

West Bay Beach is supposed to be stunning. When we were there, the locals raved about it. I also remember Barefoot Cay being a good place to go too. Access to it may be limited though, but I believe it is all inclusive because of it's private location just offshore of the island on its own private cay. They have a weddings page with lots of pics!

Hi there,

Roatan is my first option for my DW, I'm just hoping Sunwing starts offering tours earlier in the season, as I'd like to go in September 2011.

I have been to Roatan before. My FI and I rented a private vacation home in West Bay Beach and it was amazing.

Not sure if you're looking for an all-inclusive, but Infinity Bay is no longer part of Sunwing's all-inclusive packages (I heard this just a couple of weeks ago).

Here's a link to some other Roatan resorts that you might find helpful: Henry Morgan Resorts

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
