Perfect DW Manicure - OPI Axxium!

I just go this done for the second time yesterday. The first time it lasted 17 days. This one is clipping but I was painting and cleaning last night so that is probably why. I think as long as you ask for the OPI Axxium you should be ok. I just ask for the OPI Axxium manicure.

I keep hearing it makes your nails stronger and helps them grow so I am going to try and continue the manicure through out the summer till my wedding in October. And I will make sure I get it done the day before I leave.

Uhh!! I need help.

So I booked my nail appointment about 2 weeks ago - for the Opi Axxium gel nails. Fine, the girl said no problem and they could do french tips. I got called tonight saying they can't - they don't do those lol.

SO I'm back to square one -- she recommended I get the acrilyc nails, but I have heard bad things about them, and how they chip fast etc.

Any advice on how I should proceed? I can't find anywhere else that does them in my area. She also suggested I just grow them and get a regular oxi manicure with the french tips and then under the light. But, my nails don't grow very well.

I got the biogel and it seems to be the same thing. I got the french manicure and it lasts about 3 weeks, no chipping or breaking. I went to Planet Nails at Yonge & Eglinton, if that helps (not sure if you're in Toronto).

Is that the one you had? (i.e not fake nails at all)
Yeah, pretty much. I wasn't able to find the OPI Axxium either and I hate acrylic nails. My nails were short the first time I went, so I couldn't get the french manicure. But by the time the 3 weeks went by for a refill, they grew to a nice length and that's when I got the first french manicure. The white tips are not nail polish-- it is a white gel that they put on, and then a clear gel, and then they set both with the UV light. The gel makes your nails stronger so that they don't break (I could never grow my nails either). I posted a picture on page 3 of this thread when I went for my first refill and french manicure: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...16/index3.html

Good luck!

I'm just such a noob to this stuff -- I kept my appointment, and I'll either get the acrilycs or the gel like you wrote about above!

Thanks!
No problem! Let us know how it turns out for you :)

Great thread! I LOVE OPI Axxium!

I have had it done about 4 times now after listening to my hair stylist about how wonderful it is. She was right! I have told everyone I know about this!

If you are looking for something other then fake nails this is it. I am really hard on my nails and it lasts. I don't know if I will ever bother to paint my nails on my own again. It seems like 3 days later and they chip. My mom and aunt both plan on having this done before leaving for the wedding!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
