Riu Palace Punta Cana - Feb 26, 2011 - updated w/ pics!!

Recommended Posts

Congrats!!!! I am also booked for the RIU Punta Cana Palace for 05/23/2011. I am hoping all goes well since I am nervous about planning a wedding from afar. The pictures that someone posted with the cakes steakhouse, etc was very helpful because the WC did not send me any of those pictures. They send me the pictures of the wedding area and two pictures of cakes. I must admit they definetly don't get back to you in a timely fashion at times, but they had the best package especially for the numbers that will be coming. We have about 100 invited 45 already booked and more coming. Please send me anything that you feel will/can be useful. I am still waiting for them to get back to me about a couple of things but I am happy that i see alot of people going with this hotel.

Good luck and God bless

@ ablj209 - Have you heard about any discounts offered for the wedding packages, cocktail hour, private reception, or bride/groom room if 10 or 20 plus rooms are booked for a wedding?

@Iamalldiva - Sorry, I haven't heard much info on specific pricing and discounts.  So far, we only have a very small party joining us, so I think we'll be okay with the standard packaging.  I am sending out invitations this week, so hopefully, when I receive my response cards, I'll have a better idea of how many people are actually travelling and whether or not I need to look into these details.

@Dominicana06 - please share your review and pictures soon!!! we are all anxious to see how it turned out!!!!

@ablj209 - I'm at 49 booked (47 + my fiancé & myself).  Hoping it doesn't go that much higher! :o)  But if it does the more the merrier...

@sheskrafty23 - the cost is $10 per person above the package limit.  The additional fee covers the champagne and cake.

Also, just found out that Riu Palace offers fire dancers for entertainment.  Cost is $300…  In case anyone is interested!

OMG, I am so happy that you had a good time, my wedding is May 23, 2011 and I was just panicking on making sure that everything goes right. How was the cake? Did the Dj play all kinds of music or did you tell him what you wanted, I was actually looking for an MC to introduce us but they said they did not have that. But please share with me the music selections. My fiance is dominican and I am trinidadian but we want some rap/r&b as well. You sound great and i am even more amped up because I was stressing out. I have about 100 invited and 50 booked already. Did you get any room discounts? I really cant wait to see your photos. I was also trying to narrow down to the photo guy as well. I can't wait to see your photos!!!!!! I did want the Gazebo wedding and I have already requested the steakhouse so I AM HAPPY!!!

Thank you so much for making me feel at ease.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
