Hey ladies we are leaving from JFK (live in NJ) on the 20th of May. I was originally trying to get a flight out of EWR but the price was too high. Check Jetblue out of JFK, they have direct flights to DR and they have the extra leg room seats. Not exactly first class but something. I like the idea of the car service maybe you can get some pre-wedding nookie if you get a limo! (wink) I am SURE he will love that gift as well! Good luck!

A majority of our wedding party/group flew out of JFK and we all found it really convenient. They were extremely helpful to us because we were carrying our wedding dress/BM dress and suits, etc. We didn't think JFK was as bad as people kept making it out to be.

If you want 1st class, I say go for JFK. 1st class is totally worth it! We got upgraded to 1st class when we went to Hawaii and now hubby doesn't think he could ever do a long flight again unless it's 1st class.

Ok ladies, so here's my update on what I (we've) decided to do.

So I broke down and told my FI the surprise I had in store as I couldn't decide what to do. He was excited and said it was a very thoughtful idea. Of course, him being the great guy that he is said he'd forfeit the "gift I had planned" so we could save the money for something else as the price difference was almost $900. Well, needless to say, I still wanted us to have the experience (plus, he'll feel like a king and I feel like they'll handle my dress better lol) So I left the decision up to him whether he wanted to travel the extra distance and go non-stop or whether he wanted to stay local and connect. Drum roll please .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ......................................lol!

He wants to just stay local so we are flying from EWR and connecting in Miami. So we'll have 2 shorter first class flights.

I want to thank everyone for their input and opinions. It really meant alot to me that so many brides chimed in.

Hopefully this Continental fiasco doesn't affect anyone else sad.gif

Thanks again ya'll.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
