Hi Everyone!!

My name is Lauren Roth. I got engaged on Christmas Day of 2009. I have been all over NJ trying to find a venue for my wedding and finally decided that I want to do a destination wedding!! I am looking to get married anytime from March through the beginning of May of 2011. I only started researching this past Friday and am looking into Cabo, Bermuda, St. Thomas and the Bahamas. Ive mostly researched Cabo so far, but am feeling very overwhelmed. Can anyone give me any tips on where to start? I am looking to have the Ceremony at a Catholic Church (which Cabo seems to have) and then the Reception outdoors. I want a beautiful wedding, but am looking ot keep the cost minimal. I think an All-Inclusive Resort would be best for my guests, but not really sure if thats a big deal or not. Can anyone help me with some tips on where to start, how to deal with reorts (is there anyone inparticular that I should contact), and if there are any resorts who are really easy to work with??

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer!

You should definitely look into having a travel agent help you. You can give her all the specifications you want for your wedding/resort and she should be able to point you in the right direction. They should also be able to negotiate better rates at the hotels and help your guests book their hotels and airfare. My TA wrote up an email for me to send to all my guests with all the travel information on it and now they all just talk to her directly and then she lets me know when someone books. Takes a lot of pressure off of you!!

Congrats and welcome to the forum! There are many Cabo brides on the forum, and I know Dreams Cabo is a wonderful location. You may want to contact a travel agent to help you choosing a location. I started by researching resorts within a price limit we wanted to keep for our guests and then searched for the wedding packages after and found the best combination. I used tripadvisor a lot to help on choosing a location.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
