Tomorrow I am headed to Canada Post to send our notarized documents to Chandlyn!! I also scanned them in and plan on emailing them to her as backup... very exciting, time is just flying by!!

Just curious - any Canadians who may have already mailed in their paperwork, did you send it by registered mail and how much did it cost?

Ok - I plan on getting this together this week but quick question. Did you notarize a copy of your license, passport, & birth certificate for both of you? So, there is a total of 6 notarized sheets?

Hi! I just had a copy of each of our passports and each of our birth certificates notarized, so 4 sheets in total. It says on the Riu website Passports OR Drivers license. And to answer my own question - haha - to send registered mail to Jamaica from Canada was only about $15. They gave me a tracking # so I think I'm set! :)

Here is the requirements from the Wedding Packages by Destination. Honeymoon Holidays. Weddings by Riu site:

Jamaica:

Notarized copies of Birth Certificate

Notarized copies of Passports or driverâ€s license

Notarized copies of divorce papers (if applicable)

Notarized copies of death certificate (if applicable)

Notorized Documents stating name changes (if applicable)

Notarized, written parental consents (if under 21 years of age)

*All documents have to be notarized and presented in English 30 days prior to the ceremony.

Hi Christene,
You can take your documents to any lawyer to get them notarized, or if you have notary publics in your province, they can do it too. They can usually do it immediately, or you may have to leave it with them for a day or two. Our lawyer just did it for us for free right away!!! I think if they were to charge you it would be a very small charge. Documents have to get to Chandlyn 30 days in advance for Riu Ocho Rios weddings, so I sent mine about 60 days just to be sure they would get there in time.... hmmm... I still havent heard if they arrived, I better check into that!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
