Please let me know if this worked for you guys. I am so nervous about sending the right paperwork in. I would hate to mess up that part. I am planning to send my paperwork in early, so if anything does go wrong, I have time to fix it. Let me know how it goes when Chandalyn receives your paperwork.

I just went to the RIU website and tried to pick a time for December 31, but there were none available. If you really want NYE, maybe try to call the RIU Corporate center and check to see if there are any brides that have not confirmed yet for that date.

Well she never answered my email about scanning the docs. I just scanned them and waited to hear what she said. Well she said she could NOT open my file that I sent her and to please resend. I sent them in a zip. file. So when I recent them I sent them in a DOC. format but she has not answered that email yet. I sent out the photocopies on friday and they said about 7-10 days. So I am sure if they dont receive them soon they will let me know because we are down to a month away!!!

I finally heard from Chandlyn today!!! She told me that the scanned copies that I emailed her came out very clear and that they are just going to use them to process our marriage licence. She did not say that I was missing anything or needed anything extra so I guess we are good to go. I also asked her what kind of minister is doing the ceremony and she told me his name and that he is Baptist. Do I need to tip him or do you think that the fee's that we are paying are sufficient enough? Maybe just a gift of some kind?

I had asked another Riu bride if she had tipped the minister and she said she didn't... I think it is completely optional, they are receiving the fee. So if you are extremely happy with him feel free to tip. A gift would also be a nice gesture but not necessary!
Yay that your scanned copies worked!! The days are just going to FLY by until you are MARRIED on the beautiful island of JAMAICA!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
