Any Ceiba del Mar Brides?

Recommended Posts

From what I could tell, Javier has a very romantic style so that might work very well for your ceremony.  Here is his site:  http://www.javierrojas.com.mx/

Definitely encourage pashminas! Even if it's warm, the breeze from the ocean can make the temp cooler than you would expect (esp for the sedentary folk).

A couple quick questions---

1) Is anyone else having Javier play during their ceremony? Ceiba recommended him, but I can't really find many reviews online. He has a website with some of his music - which sounds good, but not traditional wedding music.

Savy Bride-- I think you had Javier play for your ceremony? Did you pick out songs for him to play at the ceremony? Any tips?

2) Does anyone know if it gets cold at night in May? Trying to figure out if pashmina's are necessary at this time of year.

Thanks so much as always!  70 more days!!!!!!!!

Tracy

Tweets My wedding is the following Saturday but I will be arriving on Monday the 11th. How long will you be staying at Ceiba? Almost a month left for your planning. I have to say I am having a hard time falling asleep because I lay there thinking about all the things I still need to do!

I actually had my aunt play her guitar.  She used to be a singer and now participates in her church choir so I saw it as a great opportunity to incorporate her into the ceremony.  I'm sure any live music option you select will be beautiful!

I've been seriously lagging in posting my CdM review but promise I will get to (at least part of) it this weekend, with pics!!

Hi ladies, I am thinking of having my wedding at Ceiba del Mar and I have a quick question for you. I have been communicating with Diana, who is lovely, and asked for a list of preferred vendors. She sent one to me, but I admit I was a bit floored by the prices. Do you have to book with the list she provides, or can you use anyone you choose? Are there outside vendor fees? Any help is appreciated! I love the look of Ceiba, but there is no way I can afford a wedding there based on what she sent to me. I will have blown my budget on music and photography alone.

Ceiba has the speakers and microphone for rent, the sound was excellent.  I think they provided the table for the ceremony too.

Hi Joda,

We used DJ Mannia who was not on their list but got approval ahead of time.  I think the list is a suggestion, but you do need to get approval from the hotel with all of your vendors.  As for our photographer, we brought our own.  Since the photographer was a guest we were able to get any outside vendor fee waived.  Hope that helps, good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
