Any Ceiba del Mar Brides?

Recommended Posts

Ahhhh.. the snow!!!!!!!!!  :)  We were planning our honeymoon to French Polynesia last night, so I am dreaming of Mexico and the South Pacific as I stare out my office window at a sheet of white! :)

KPSouthie - I do not know if Javier plays any traditional songs.  (I have not even asked him what he plays - I think will just let him play whatever he thinks at the time.)  I just enjoyed his listening to his music online.

Good to know about the bugs - have you looked into buying any bug spray in bulk for OOT bags?  I have been trying to find some, but no luck yet.  I am hoping to find the wipes - so it is easier to travel/pack.

All - any tips, suggestions, comments on menus?

Hey tweets.13, we just recently went down to do our site visit/pick vendors/do our tasting.  We decided to go with the Mexican buffet for our rehearsal dinner, and do a three course dinner for the reception (which I guess most people do).  My opinion is that even though there are many very ambitious things on the menus, the best options are the Caribbean, Mexican, and American dishes -- from what I tasted, the pastas and the Asian options aren't quite as good.

Hi Ladies,

I just saw in Self Magazine a picture that looked very familiar.  It is a picture from the pool to the ocean from Ceiba.  You can win $3000 to use at Ceiba del Mar by signing up for Jillian's Jump Start plan (from the biggest loser show).

For food, we are doing different types of bbq skewers.  For the reception we stuck with a basic chicken, fish, and steak meal.  All guests will get a salad and also have a ceviche or tortilla soup.  I did like the food but I thought that at times they tried too hard.  For example, the chicken comes with a sauce and there was just way too much sauce on it.

We still didn't make any cake decisions yet.

NYC girls- how did you love that expect 6 to 8 inches which turned into 19 inches!?  I loved seeing people leap across slush puddles or step in them up to their ankles in not-so-appropriate shoes.

hi Buggle

You will need to contact them or maybe a previous bride can give you that information.  In the contract, it states if you provide this information to anyone else, the contract can be terminated.

Give them a call to get some quotes or call a TA.

Hi Buggle,

They're usually pretty good about getting back to you in a day or two.  Maybe there was a wedding or something?  Sometimes when they're busy it takes longer.  I'm not sure who you originally contacted, but try reaching out to Diana.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
