Tropical Weddings Jamaica- amazing choice!

Recommended Posts

Hi Princess,

I am considering inquiring about Tropical Weddings. I have about 100 guests booked at Iberostar Suites however I am starting to get second thoughts on having the ceremony there. I do not love the beach set up and people are just walking around and can be in your pictures. I also do not like the yellow lounge chairs on the beach near the ceremony. Iberostar has so many extra fees I wonder if it would be better to have it offsite like at the Aqueduct. Iberostar's package is $2100 plus $18 per person just for the ceremony. What are your thoughts? Maybe I should call Almerie.

Hi Jade, I would call or email Almarie from Tropical Weddings. She is super quick to respond and very knowledgeable. Also google Tropical Weddings Jamaica to have a better look at what they can do. They offer tons of private locations (including a private Beach) which are a lot nicer I think. It was important to me to have a location where it would just be my group and I loved my venue! Cost wise it is very similar but with Almarie you have a lot more flexibility. Let me know what you decide (PM me as I am not on here all the time). I can answer any questions you may have! Jenn

Hi girls!  I worked with Tropical Weddings Jamaica to book my wedding ceremony at a private beach in Montego Bay in November 2012.  My group stayed at the Iberostar Beach resort and had our wedding reception there, but we decided to go with an offsite ceremony so that we could have a more private location.  I was very happy with this decision as the private beach was very pretty and private!  Almarie was great to work with throughout the planning process.  She was prompt to reply to e-mails and accommodating to any changes I made throughout the planning.  Everything was set up exactly as we had arranged on the day of the wedding.  Almarie met my bridesmaids and I as we were getting out of the van at the beach, handed us our bouquets and instructed us on where to walk.  Everything went perfectly from there.  I had provided Almarie with a picture of a bouquet I liked and the bouquet I got was exactly like the picture! I loved my bouquet!   We also booked a steel drum band to play during and after the ceremony and they were really good (my husband is a musician so heâ€s very picky about music and he was happy with them!).  I definitely recommend Tropical Weddings Jamaica!  We had no complaints!

That makes me very happy MontegoKate!!  We booked with Almarie this past week for our private beach ceremony in Montego Bay.  We are also staying at the Iberostar Grand, but wanted a private wedding away from the public.  So far, I have bee super happy with our communication with Almarie.  She's professional and quick to reply :)  Did you have your ceremony on Tropical Beach?

Almarie (Tropical Weddings Jamaica) did a fantastic job! We could not have pictured a more PERFECT wedding. Everything was exactly how we requested or better. We planned on having about 30 guests, some were children and many of the couples-only resorts had restrictions on children attending a wedding. There are also insane guest fees if your guests are not staying at the same resort.

I found Almarie's website & soon realized this was the perfect way to plan the wedding of our dreams. We had my reservations since we had never been to Jamaica, had never met Almarie, and had never seen any of these sites in person, but our wedding was like a fairytale. Almarie was very accommodating- I am a control freak and I emailed her details and pictures of how I wanted everything to look- down to the bouquets and centerpieces, etc. She also made time in her very busy week to meet up with us and even drive us all the way to the wedding site (about an hour away) just so we can see the site and practice our surprise tango.

On the day of the wedding our guests were picked up from our resort and I was transported in a separate vehicle about 15 minutes after they left- to make sure that nobody would see me in my dress (besides my bridesmaids). When I arrived my breath was just taken away. It was beautiful. We even requested a violinist instead of a saxophonist only a few weeks before the wedding and she was able to find one. Everything was beautiful. The decorations, the arch, the flowers, everything. The food was excellent. And don't get me started on the cake- we are still dreaming about that cake, it was soooo tasty. We also scheduled the fire dancers as a surprise for our guests and that was amazing. We ended up going over almost 2 hours on time but never felt rushed. Our guests LOVED everything. We got many compliments on how this was the best wedding they had ever been to. I highly highly highly recommend Almarie- she will make your dreams come true!

I really want to use Almarie, however i am thinking about swtiching hotels to the Royalton, and unsure if she is allowed to decorate there, this is very frustrating !

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
