Is anyone NOT upgrading at the resort?

Recommended Posts

I forgot to mention that we are getting the "Vow Renewal" package ... which comes included ... but then doing a la carte for any reception stuff and extras. With the amount of people we have coming, the pricefor adding people on to the wedding/reception package deals was wwaayy more expensive than doing it a la carte for us.

Don't fret, Morgan is right, it's all about how much control you want to have. My wedding wasn't at a resort, but I took a really relaxed approach to the set up. I didn't really know what the tables/flowers/cake were going to look like until I saw them on my wedding day. I could have been more hands on but I was more excited to be marrying Will than to care what color the tableclothes were. I basically told the WC I wanted lots of candles and petals and I wanted our ceremony to face the ocean, and I was thrilled with what I got.

We even went for a site inspection which my WC loved because she said I was so laid back it made her job fun, lol. Some people have known how they want things to look since before they were engaged, some get inspired by magazines, in our case we knew the location was the decoration and anything extra was a bonus so we didn't stress over it. There is no right or wrong way to do it, so make it your own and do what you feel.

You are so laid back, it's great. I take that approach on most days regarding the wedding, then other days I am driving myself crazy! 9 more months of this too! AHHHHHHsmile35.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
