well you must post pics!

Have you thought of any locations yet? I told my photog I want some sort of hacienda/ mission, so we may drive down to san juan capistrano.

I'll definitely post the pics once they're done!

We're having such a hard time deciding on the location. I'm like, the least artistic person ever, so I have no idea what locations will look good on film. We definitely don't want to do the beach, since we figure we'll have enough beach pictures at the wedding. FI wanted a more urban feel, so he suggested some places in downtown LA (Walt Disney Concert Hall, Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Central Library, MOCA). I'm not totally sold on the idea. I'd like to do it at a park somewhere (we live near Griffith Park), but FI thinks it'll be too "boring." He said, "It'll be nice to have buildings in our pictures... or maybe a cliff." Huhhuh.gif?

I have no idea what to do at this point, but we'll have to come to a decision quick.

Getting a photographer is very stressful... I wasn't sure on who to take either (but my wedding is in Tulum). They always put their good pictures on their Internet site so you never know actually how many good pictures you will have at the end...

My real concern was that I wanted the pictures + cd before I took the plane back home... 10 days after the wedding ! Most of them could do it but some usually need 3 to 4 weeks before getting them.

My photograph is Elizabeth Medina (go on her Internet site, you can get a few ideas on pictures to have!) Yes, she is over my budget but I am only getting married once and I want perfect pictures so I hired her ! Many people from this forum have recommended her so read alot from here and that should help alot !

I like your FI's ideas - I think you could get some cool city shots! Plus, (since us brides get to plan almost everything cheesy.gif) this could be something that you could do for him. Just an idea. :)

So we had our engagement photo session with Elizabeth Lloyd yesterday and it went great! Beth is really nice and easy to work with. We ended up doing the shoot at several locations in our neighborhood of Los Feliz and Griffith Park. We started off with some neighborhood shots of us sitting at a sidewalk restaurant, us against a wall with graffiti art, at a gelato shop. Then we drove around Griffith Park and stopped at Travel Town where they had replicas of trains (or maybe they were real), then we went to a park with a fountain, and a grassy area with some trees.

Beth said sheâ€d send me a CD with the pictures in a week or so. Iâ€m so anxious and excited to see how they turned out! But the few that I saw from her camera looked good, so Iâ€m not too worried. I feel a lot better about having her do my wedding now. Iâ€ll post some pics when I get them (and after I learn how to post pics… haha…).

PS... FI liked her too. In the end, he was okay with not going to downtown. I just made sure we got some city/restaurant/urban shots instead of all nature-y. What's more LA than a graffiti wall, right?

Yay, I'm glad to hear from someone who has used her. It seems like you two felt comfortable, so that is really going to help to get good pictures. I don't know how to post ANYTHING, so I feel your pain, but wish you luck because I want to see her work : ). Thanks and congrats on this step!

Elizabeth Floyd, Elizabeth Medina, and Elizabeth Fladughuh.gif

Please don't tell me they are all the same person!! I think Floyd and Fladug are the same but who is this Medina? Are her rates about the same or way more?

Rachel,

I should have known you chose Fladug because she emailed me telling me she was shooting a wedding at Caletas a few days prior to mine.

Is she from the states, do you know? I like the fact she has an assistant with her so I may also choose her as well. Plus, she'll already be there!!

Remind me again of where you are staying?

Where will most of your guests stay?

Thanks

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
