Jellyfish Restaurant

Recommended Posts

Darcy,

I've heard that the process is quite detailed (particular paperwork, translation requirements, etc.) so for that reason my husband and I eloped in Hawaii and are having a big wedding in Punta Cana at the Jellyfish in April. I didnt want to risk not having something right and it not legalized in the States so we took the safe route.

For those of you that had your dance floor set up outside; Did Mayte set up a bar outside or were your guests going back inside anytime they wanted a drink? Did the outside dance floor cause any separation between your guests or was the entire group ok with being outside?

Thank you

yes, there was a bar set up outside by the dancefloor

I'm new to this thread, however we are thinking about the Jellyfish Reception + Dreams Palm Beach Symbolic ceremony for next June 2014. Has and one split it into two places? We figure if we will be at the resort for the 10 days we should take advantage of the complementary ceremony and put more towards the open bar and dinner options. We will be hosting about 45 guests.

Been looking and looking for the perfect song to walk with my dad down the isle to marry the love of my life. I found the song. "They Fell in Love."  Here is a video of  it, I love how they both stand at the top and wait for the violins to start. It's very moving. The music gives you time to hug your dad and for my love to shake my dad's hand. Ahhhhhh.  I saw the tears in the crowd. Those violins just move me and are going to move my guest as well. I downloaded it and it sounds AMAZING vs the video.  It's that perfect moment with the perfect music. here is the youtube video

and where you can buy it.  http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/christineborgeld     I wish you all the best with finding the music for your day.  HUGS

Majestic-Vendor on site-to pay fees or not... We are staying at the Majestic Elegance for our Feb 28th -2014 wedding. We are getting married at the Jellyfish, so I have opted not to pay any outside vendor fees for makeup/photographer to come onsite. I would rather put that money towards upgarded items for the reception. I am going to use the bride room that was just completed at the Jellyfish to get ready and I have requested for Anna N. (Makup/hair) to come there. It also allows me time to check on the progress of set-up etc...to ensure it is the way I want it and I can work with Mayte in person for any last minute changes or updates...IE: weather/additonal guests etc.... I plan to arrive at the JF around 10am. I have opted not to use much time for "getting ready" photos..honestly this is my second marriage and I had 2 hrs of getting ready in my room and various shots of drinking champagne with bridal party.. for the first wedding and those photos have styed in a box since the day I recevied them..I never framed any or put any of them out. THey were really great to look at but that is about it...I preferred to have reception photos framed. I would rather use my time allotment for full reception converage thatn me in my bra getting into my dress...

I need some help with pricing. I am wondering if anyone who is staying at the Majestic Resorts has, or is planning on having, a photographer and stylist come to the resort prior to leaving for the Jellyfish and what the vendor cost is (seeing as neither of them are staying there longer than 2-3 hours and we are not getting married on their property)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Rachel

Forgot to "quote" you when I replied to your question..please see last page of thread regarding off site vendors at Majestic :)

I just checked with Mayte and asked if we could come to Jellyfish to start getting ready at 10. She said we couldn't come until 12 to start getting ready.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
