Jellyfish Restaurant

Recommended Posts

Has anyone done an evening reception at Jellyfish? If so, how did the pictures come out? My ceremony is booked for 4:30pm at the church, and I don't have much control over that. I just want to make sure that the lighting will be okay when the reception takes place after that.

Mayte tells me not to worry about a deposit until we can see that we are happy with the choice and her.

Email #2: Our short trip to the DR has been delayed for a few months, so I let Mayte know and ask her again if she needs a deposit to save our date as we really don't want to lose it! Her response is " If you want to put a deposit, feel free to send whatever you want, because we don´t have any quote yet, but at the beat the requests are coming every day, will be perfect idea, so you have the deposit and the date completly yours."

I've read from the other posts that most people put 10% down, but we don't have an official quote yet. But "send whatever you want?" I've read from other posts that people put anywhere from $300-$500 down. But it also seems that most people don't actually know the real cost until a few days before the event!

So any tips about putting down a deposit, how much you sent, etc. would be really appreciated! It feels so odd just sending money somewhere without anything official.

we sent $500

Hello everyone! My fiancé and I are getting married at the jellyfish on April 1 2013 and I have yet to get a quote back from Mayte. I know she is extremely busy and I was wondering if someone could send me an up to date price list? [email protected] Also has anyone had the fireworks at their wedding? I'm curious as to whether or not they are worth the price. Thanks so much Lyndsay

Hi Rski,

Just wondering if you ever got a reply from Mayte about your 2013 date? I requested availability for May 2014 and got the exact same response! I replied asking for a more specific date and am currently waiting for a reply. But, seeing how you got the same response as me, it seems like it may be a template email. Hope you got the date you were looking for! Cheers!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
