Jellyfish Restaurant

Recommended Posts

We are staying at Dreams Palm Beach.  It's about 15 minutes from the JF.  We also have a handful of guests with time shares that will stay elsewhere, and maybe get a day pass for DPB to spend a little time with us there.  That's the good thing about having it at the Jellyfish.  Guests can really stay where ever they like, so just pick a resort that works for you...

I got quoted $150 plus 16% tax for all orchids from the Majestic, so I'd say that this sounds about right...

Hello Ladies!

We were married at the Jellyfish 1/7 and I am just now returning to a normal schedule. I will try to do a review. As for the flowers, they were almost EXACTLY what I send her. I did real flowers for the bridesmaids, myself, groomsmen and even for parents and grandparents and I think out cost was about 400. We chose to do fake flowers for everything else to keep cost down. Hope that helps, Mayte is truely amazing. We unfortunatley had some issues that were out of her control, but I would still plan it the same way if I had to do it over!

How close to the original pic would my flowers look?

So I'm asking if any past brides that got real flowers for their weddings at the Jellyfish if you could share with me any inspiration pics along with a pic of what your actual bouquet looked like so I can compare?

Thanks!

I've actually wondered the same thing about the DJ... I haven't asked because I just assumed that he would do this, and I really hope he does. I'm sending my music list in alphabetical order; it would be awful played in that order. Will he mix it up and put songs together thant sound good together? Separate fast and slow songs? Thanks!!

I wanted to add... When I was asking Mayte about the DJ, she said that she could bring in the lighted dance floor.  She gave me a quote for the lighted dance floor and LED or a plasma one (to have images on the dance floor).  I think that's what I'm going to do.  That way I would have the DJ and the lighted dance floor in the sand all night instead of just for 4 hours.

One question that I had about the in house DJ, if you send him a list of songs, I'm assuming they don't just play them in order right?  They actually blend them in and mix them up right?  Well like a DJ right?  lmao  I know it sounds like a dumb question, but I want a DJ that will keep the party going, not just someone that is like a glorified ipod. does that make sense?

NP Alex,  This is what she sent me when I asked her:

Dance floor options:

Dance floor on the sand with lights and papper lanters: 200 Us
Dance floor wood white with lights around : 350 US
 Led dance floor: 500 US
Plasma dance floor: 600 US like a big TV on the sand.

Also, she said that just like the DJ there is no time limit for the dance floor.  The price is the rental fee for all night.

Hello Ladies,

My name is Lona and this is my first post in this thread. After reading the all the post and seeing amazing photographs I've decided I can't have my reception any other place and the resort just won't do! I'm just waiting for my confirmation e-mail from Mayte. Keeping my fingers crossed for 10.19.12!

Welcome LonaJ!  That's exactly how I felt!  I already had my deposit put down at the resort and as soon as I came across the Jellyfish I knew I had to move it.  At first I just moved the reception and then after a few months I decided I needed to do the whole wedding there.  It truly looks like a magical place.

I know Mayte sometimes takes a few days to respond since she is soooo busy, so be patient with her.  I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
