We are using Karina Jenson for photography and HDC Photo for videography. Karina's website is http://photobykarina.com/.  Her portfolio is amazing and her prices are very reasonable. She's based in La Romana (I think) so there are some nominal travel fees.  Have an awesome trip and happy planning!!

Hey...we went with Caribbean Emotions for photography and videography! Heard great things about them and great prices :-) On another note, does anyone know if the flowers for bride and bridesmaids bouquets real or fake??
We also used Caribbean Emotions. They were great! The flowers are real and beautiful!

Hello!

I just returned from a trip to Punta Cana. We stayed at Hard Rock (it is awesome!) and toured 6 other resorts - Majestic Elegance, Dreams Palm Beach, Ocean Blue & Sand, Gran Bahia Principe Amber & Esmerelda, Now Laeimar, Secrets Royal Beach and The Jellyfish! It is awesome and pictures are attached!!! It's open and airy with lots of ambiance and right on the beach. It's a one lane bumpy ride in and out but definitely worth the ride. Mayte and I had planned to meet up but unfortunately my schedule was changed last minute and we missed each other. Mayte works individually with each couple but  she sent me an estimate of pricing so my brides booked at the Jellyfish could get an idea of pricing. Please see below. If anyone has any questions please feel free to contact me at patty@wrighttravelagency.com or 866-208-8681. Thanks! TA Patty

Hi Patty,

I work under quotes, so personal for each bride, but I can give you a estimate or general for some things, after that, the brides send me pictures from things they like and I quote in base of that requires. I´m not like hotels has packages and after thake comision for everything, the quote I get, is the quote I charge. But for my experience I can make you a list for you know more or less:

Dj and sound: 700 us and includes MC, lights, micros and a sound ceremony. No limit time, they stay here from guests arrive to the couple decided to end!!

For decor and ceremony set on the beach for less than 50 pax is around 1.500 us all included, names cards, menu cards in wedding colors and under the pictures of the bride, all is possible. No chrage for candles or colors.

Flowers: depend a lots for the type of flowers, roses are not the same price than orquids, and depends as well for the design.
But more or less is:

Bride bouquet: from 100 us to 150 us
Bride maid´s: from 40 us to 75 us
Botounieurs: 10 to 15 us
Corsages: 25 to 45 us
petal bags: 12/15 us depends on the colors
Centerpieces : that is difficult, because it just depends on the design, quantity of flowers etc...

Cake: design, cover, decor... from 5 us to 7 us per person
Cup cakes: form 2 us small ones to 3.5 us the bigers ones.... more desserts are possibles.

Dance floor: simple on the sand with lightling, pappers lamps: 200 us
white wood dance floor with lights: 350 us
                  Led dance floor: 500 us
Fire work volcans for dance floor: 100 us

Lounge forniture: white sofas, tables etc.. 200 us a lounge for 10 pax included decor and pillows in colors.

Projector and screen: 250 us

Alive groups for cocktail hour: 250 us/ 300 us depends on the instruments

Fire show: 350 us 4 dancers 20 minuts show

Crazy hour: Full show, assorted of styles : 850 us

Transportations: 2 ways 7 us per person.

Cigar rollers: 350 us

And any thing you want, I can get for you!!

I hope all of that is useful for you, but I repeat, all is personal depends on the couple ask me for.

Un abrazo

Mayte

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
