Jellyfish Restaurant

I love that idea of sea food shots!!! I didn't see that as an option on the menu list, and never thought to ask. How much did Mayte quote you per person (if you don't mind me asking) and what ingredients will you have in the shot glass? I so love this idea!!!

Appetizers: Hot pockets (1.50), Mozzarella sticks (1.50) and Butterfly shrimp (2.50)

I figured that cocktail / app hour will only be for 1 hour, and then our guests will move into the restaurant for dinner, so we don't want to feed them too much in 1 hour. If you plan on having a longer cocktail hour, then maybe more food would be the way to go. :)

Great to hear about the fireshow! I was thinking of suprising everyone with it including my Fiancee.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions on the appy's! I did hear back from Mayte and I think I will go with her suggestion of 3. Haven't decided which ones yet but definitely gives me a starting point!

Can't believe its only 58 days away!!! Yikes!! I feel like I have so much to do still!

Okay, call me crazy.. we're less than 40 days away from our wedding and I keep on going back and forth with having a set menu or letting our guests choose what they want.  We have 28 guests (including photographer from home) & meal for the videographer.. so 29 of us total.

Just to clarify.. each person for a set menu, gets one entree & one main course with sides.. or, 2 entrees & one main course with sides?

Hi Marirocks,

Just looked at your pictures. You looked amazing, I loved your dress, hair and makeup. Thanks for sharing your pics. This gave a better perspective of the restaurant and the aisle you walked down to the beach.

I have two questions for you :)

1. Did Mayte lay a square of rose petals for you to walk through at the begining of the aisle, or was that something you requested? Or maybe I'm not seeing the setup right, lol

2. What time was your wedding ceremony at?

Again, thanks SO MUCH for sharing. The fire dancers were pretty cool too. :)

I am having the same probelm! Although I have longer to decide :) I believe it is one main course, but you pick what to serve. I like the pre set menu because it seems more formal, but I also think the pick your own might be cheaper. I was thinking, a salad for everyone and then they pick their entree... although not final yet, we have 36

My aunt said that she likes the idea of pick your own because then guests can get the local flavor of what they want.

Glad I read this thread, otherwise we would probably be having a lot of food! I always tend to go over on thins :)  So, when you say three, is it just three apps with one per person of each? I love food...I always seem to eat a lot of the apps at weddings

Hi Marirocks! What did you select for the fireshow? I know there were a few options, I wonder if the cheaper one is really worth it, do they really only perform for ten minutes or whatever it says. We wanted to have a bonfire but Mayte said it depends on the wind. But the fire dancers can perform even when it's windy

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
