I tried doing that but the whole 'leave a deposit' thing was getting out of hand, so I'm letting people book their own flights. My TA is purely for the resort booking.

Can you forward me Mayte's email/phone number. Thanks!

I just had my wedding at the Jellyfish on June 23. One word...AMAZING! We had a large group of 56 total people all staying at Majestic Elegance. The number one best decision we made was to have our entire wedding at the Jellyfish. The communication with Mayte was clear and quick. She always made me feel calm and confident that things would go smoothly. We met with her two days before our wedding and tried the food and drinks (for free by the way)! Everything was perfect! We also went through some final decisions. She is a complete sweetheart and will work with you to create whatever you want.

On the actual wedding day a bus picked up our group and another bus picked up the bridal party, my dad, and myself. The decorations, food, drinks, DJ, and atmosphere were perfect! It was so much more private than if it was at the resort. Our ceremony started at  5 with pastor Rick York (who was amazing), followed by the cocktail hour, dinner, and reception. It all went very smoothly and I wouldn't have changed a thing. We left around 11:30, but Mayte said we could have stayed "until the sun came up". We danced and partied until the very end!

Any specific questions feel free to email me at brookemcandrew@hotmail.com mayte and the jellyfish staff made the day perfect and I highly recommend having it there! Good luck :)

No worries, I had thought the same thing too. What I ended up doing was printing off all the information that Mayte had sent to me via e-mail and took that right to my bank.  The bank teller knew exactly what to do and we have just received a confermation e-mail from Mayte to let us know they offically received our deposit.

Thank you SO much for sharing with us Brooke!  Is it possible for you to post a few of your photos so we can all see how beautiful your wedding and ceremony looked? (and so that we are able to pull a few ideas from your wedding to use for ours too)

Also just watched the video of Brooke's wedding at the Jellyfish on Facebook.

Looked like a beautiful wedding an awesome day and a wonderful crowd to help you celebrate!

With such a big crowd did you do an open buffett or did you select one of the menu options for everyone?

Congratulations Brooke!

Brooke: Thanks for sharing your special day with us and the rest of the girls on here for sharing the video info on FB. Looks like you had a beautful day and a beautiful wedding. If ever you have a chance, please send us some pics of your wedding day. I'd love to see the decor Mayte did for you guys.

Also, did you go with the restaurant DJ? And if so, what are your thoughts on this DJ?

Thanks,

Melissa

Vav11238,

You only need to plan directly through the Jellyfish with Mayte.  All of my planning with the Jellyfish was separate from all other communication that i had with my travel agent and our resort.

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
