I just got married in March with 29 guests, and my bill at the Jellyfish was almost exactly $6,000. This included DJ, food, alcohol, cocktail hour, ceremony outside, cake, decor, simple flowers for the tables, and crazy show($850). Extra costs: photographer (about $2,000), videographer ($1500), Pastor Mark ($350) and makeup/hair for myself and my two bridesmaids ($275). Together with our resort costs (8 days for 2 people, free upgrade to Honeymoon at Ocean Blue & Sands was $2,750)

so...

$6,000 Jellyfish (all inclusive)

$3,500 photog/videog

$   350 Pastor

$   275 Hair/makeup

$2,750 Ocean Blue & Sands

$   630 Flight for 2 people

----------

$13,505  total Punta Cana cost.

I'm not including things like my dress and decorations that I purchased in the US and brought with me, nor bridal party clothing (which we purchased for the most part) but all of that would probably total another $2,000 or so. Either way, we literally can't believe our AMAZING wedding was only $13K. I had started my wedding search out back home (NJ/NY area) and the minimum we would have spent is probably around $25,000-$30,0000 PLUS a honeymoon. So we definitely saved a lot of money, and had an unbelievable wedding that our family won't ever forget!

We saw a bunch of weddings at the resort, and ladies.. let me tell you.. the Jellyfish is worth every penny.  If you're agonizing between getting the included resort package and spending a litte more at the Jellyfish.. I promise you won't have one single regret about it. Do what you need to.. sell your sofa if you have to.. haha.. you'll have a dream wedding at the JF. :)

We used Florian at video punta cana and he was wonderful! We loved the trailer option because we found the chronological a little boring :) He made a custom option for us for a great price, stayed hours longer than he said he would, didn't make us do anything too cheesy like blowing a kiss at the camera (that's just not me!) And had it back to us before we left. You can search for my review for more details!
Tha Mimiq, quick question for you... For the highlight trailer , were you able to get a hard copy of it? Thanks :)

Yes, thank you inloveinkorea! We JUST had to bump our wedding from Feb to December, so scrambling to re-book and re-organize everything that was already done! STRESSFUL! As a result of having to bump our wedding Krystie Ann is not available to do our hair/makeup because she won't be in DR in December :( Totally bummed because I live in same home town as her, have had her do my makeup in the past and had my trial all set to go. So now I'm back to the drawing board. Can anyone recommend anyone else? What are you other December 2013 brides doing? Is anyone else getting married the week between Dec 7-14 or thereabouts and interested in splitting cost of getting someone there? I am open to suggestions and any recommendations anyone may have? Resort is NOT an option as I just recently returned from resort we are staying at for the wedding and while there had a trial which went terribly!!! This Canadian pale skin can be problematic for some!! Haha!!! Thanks ladies! Ignore my username 'bride2014' haha! Laura

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
