Hello lovely ladies,

I am a July 2013 bride. I booked my trip and wedding at the RIU Palace Punta Cana, but am now desperate to switch my ceremony and reception to the Jellyfish! I have e-mailed the website to request the date, but haven't heard back yet!!!! I know this seems to be a common thing, and can take some time, but it is so difficult to be have patience.

I am having a small wedding party, probably 15-20 people, do any of you who have been there think that the upstairs would work for us? Would we take all the space up there with one long table?

Thanks fo your help ladies!

Keep your fingers crossed for me about getting my date, otherwise I am going to be sooooo sad!

-Amanda

Yes.  We went through Mayte for all of our vendors, and her vendors are (IMO) all the best of the best on the island!  She can basically set anything up for you if  you ask her.

Oh, and I should take this time to say how absolutely wonderful ***** is.  Matt and I just spent 3 hours watching our slide show (yup, it was a marathon session!) and the pics are just gorgeous.  I don't love myself in pictures and I really wanted to have a handful of shots on my wedding day where I felt I looked amazing (you know how you nit pick at yourself way more than anyone else would, right?) and there are so many shots that I just love, it's amazing.  I had always wanted a wedding photographer who would truly capture the candid moments and ***** totally delivered on this (and from past weddings that I have seen, this is a tough thing to deliver on!).  Even the posed family shots have a candid nature to them.  She and Rob were wonderful to work this and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone!

Mimi, you're photos are absolutely gorgeous! Looks like it was an amazing day. You are glowing. I feel the same way about photos of me, so I'm looking forward to having ***** as a photographer.

I was wondering where you ordered your guestbook from? I was looking to do one just like that for our own wedding.

Thanks cinnagirl! And you will love k a t y a, she is amazing. Our guestbook was made through blurb.com and we loved it. It had a handful of our engagement pics and then the rest were pics of us and our guests over the years, and a few pages dedicated to matt and me growing up and whatnot. Our guests loved it too!

For anyone who stayed at the Majestic Elegance, how far before the ceremony did you tell your guests to meet in the lobby for the transportation?  I'm working on the wedding timeline now and want to have them printed up soon!  Thanks!

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
