We're doing seafoam/mint grean/light teal and sand.

I'm kind of a control freak (sigh.. it's true!), so there's no way I can leave it all up to Mayte!! :) I have this vision that I really want to see through.

I'm bringing down a tree swing (Mayte said she'd find a place for it!) and I'm currently thinking about centerpieces. I will probably send her a mock-up of what I'd like. I'm thinking a square tray filled with sand on top of fishing nets, filled with driftwood, mason jars with crochet covers, paper flowers, and small photo frames with pictures in them to go with our theme (sharks!). I can't decide whether I want seafoam table linens or more of a natural beige.

I also have this kind of crazy idea about decorating the outdoor sand area with clusters of oversized paper lanterns that will be lit up at night. The problem is that I've only found these lanterns for sale in sets of 12, and buying that many at once would cost in the hundreds of dollars...

My only advice with the paper lanterns, if they are the ones for candles, we had a dress fire on our day. My MOHs dress blew over a candle and the back of her dress caught. It was probably a 4" line that melted. If they are they LED ones, check out Pier One online. We bought some last summer, but they were normal sized. I've also seen the 12" or 14" lanterns online from canadian sites, then you can just buy the lights separately...and then they are maybe $5-$10 each...

I am doing blue and orange for my wedding, and just purchased a bunch of lanterns from Justartifacts.net  They have so many different colors and different shapse and designs. I then purchased my LED lights from ebay, and with shipping and everything, the lanterns + lights came out to $2.16.  It was the best price I could find, so fingers crossed the quality is OK!

Wow! You weren't kidding about a specific vision!  We are leaving it up to Mayte.  Of all the photos I have seen of all the Jellyfish weddings, they have all looked amazing!  I totally trust her judgement and experience!

I sent her a picture of a centerpiece idea I loved, then told her to come up with the rest. All the linens will be the color "sand", the chairs without cover but with a sand colored sash around them, and everything neutrals exept for some accent light blue and the flowers will all be purple.

Our flowers are purple calla lillies, so these would be purple with sand and/or shells at the bottom, then I told her whatever she thinks will look nice around it, shells, starfish, beachy theme...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
