Jellyfish Restaurant

Recommended Posts

Has anyone sent their deposit through a Bank of America account transfer to avoid the wire fees?  If so, can you please PM me the last name on the Jellyfish account?  I can't tell what it is from the info Mayte sent - I've already sent her an email but I'm not expecting an answer right away.  Figured one of you may know the answer !
& congrats Caitlin!!

We did a bank-to-bank transfer from another US bank. We definitely thought the information provided was not enough info, but we just made it out to "The Jellyfish" and it went through.

Make sure you keep ALL of your confirmation numbers and receipts. Mayte's boss lost our transfer for over two months and I had to finally send a photo copy of our transfer receipt before he found it.

I will post my review and pictures soon...thank you all for the kind words...

Hi AquaCait,

I love your candy buffet!  Did you bring the candy with you or did Mayte get it for you?  If you brought it, do you mind sharing where you purchased it from?  I'm looking for similar stuff, but have only really seen some of it in massive quantities.  Did you find you had enough?  I guess I'd also like to know how many guests you had.  Sorry for all the questions!!

Thanks,

Mimi :)

Hi Mimi! No worries about questions, I will do my best to answer you. We had 33 people, including us which was a great number. The candy we did bring down ourselves, and it weighed a ton (thankfully our seats were upgraded on the plane and we were allowed an extra 10kg/22lbs each for luggage...). Plus Mayte had said that the candy they get is different from the US and Canada. So, we had: Swirly lollipops - by Wilton. Bought at Michaels Rock candy in our colours - a candy store in the Scarborough Town Centre Sugar-free jellybeans - the nutty chocolatier or bulk barn Sugar-free baskin robbins candies - the nutty chocolatier or bulk barn Candy sticks - bulk barn Salt water taffy - bulk barn Itapian almonds - Francesca bakery in scarborough There was also a great website based in NJ that had awesome candy, I think it was called oh nuts (something along those lines) that had awesome candy, but wouldn't ship to Canada...

Maybe I'll try that then.  Trust, me, I'll definitely keep the records - in fact I'll probably event make a screen shot of the confirmation too.  I'm a little bit of a paperwork hoarder but I trust no-one ;-)  Thank you!!!

Thanks for the details!  Michaels for candy - never would have thought of that!!  Now if only they had bulk barn in Vancouver!  Did you have any trouble with candies melting at all?

Nope. We specifically didn't buy anything chocolatey or gummy so it couldn't melt or get sticky... And a good tip, when you are taking stuff to Mayte, I used my Heys wheeled carry-on, loaded it up and left it with her. Then on the wedding day, I got it back with our guest book, cake topper, champagne flutes, etc...

All i have to say is that Mayte is AMAZING!!!!! She is so super busy making everyones day special! i just don't know how she does it. She exceded all of my expectations on every detail i sent her. we had 30ppl at our wedding and it was perfect. We had pastor york, photophil as our photographer and dj mannia.

AquaCait, we were there on your wedding day for our meeting, everything looked so beautiful, congrats! We opted to do al carte, which was perfect! Mayte, reprinted a menu for us. I asked her to remove any appetizers and  any dish over $30 per plate. everyone was so pleased to have so many options. if you have any questions, just let me know.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
