We pretty much decided to go al la carte drinks from after dinner on... I know I won't drink $45 worth of alcohol in the 3 hours after dinner, neither will most of my family members and a few guests don't drink at all! I'm really hoping it saves us a decent chunk of money. That's really the only place we can cut back anyway...

btw Venus - 2 Months! Holy Crap!  cheers.gif

From what I understand there dinner is $15 per kid and no additional charge for drinks for kids....

OMG! I know... can you believe it....  It's coming soo fast.  Have you talked to Mayte recently?  I emailed her a little over a week ago to get a new quote since we now have a guest list finalized and haven't heard back.

Unfortunately or Fortunately depending on how you look at it we have less people than originally thought so it does help with cost...  BUT the 36 adults that are going are all young big drinkers...  so I think we will still be stuck with open bar ;(

Are you all set with your wedding plans???  I feel like I still have A LOT to do!

I can't wait to hear Alex's review from her wedding a few days ago!

I got a response from Mayte 2 days ago....she said she's really busy lately..I guess May and June are crazy!! She has 24 weddings in June alone...nuts! Makes me feel like I'm choosing the right place though if it's this popular...Thank Venus for the kids prices! We are just in the initial planning stage so we will decide further down the line if open bar or a tab is better for us...at least with open bar there are no worries or wondering what the bill is gonna be at the end of the night...I have another question for you ladies who have gotten your quote already...What does the $500 decor package for the reception include? I'm assuming linens, chair sashes, center pieces? Does it include the table numbers and name cards as well?? Thanks ladies!!

I had originally asked her what time would allow for some light after the ceremony for photos and Maybe replied 4 / 4:30.   Makes sense actually.  Looks like the sun sets in December in PC around 6pm which after the ceremony should give me an hr of light and some sunset photos which is perfect .  Sun sets around 7 pm in May, Cinnagirl, so you should be good with 5pm, 5:30 even if you wanted!  http://www.shootingonlocation.com/filmlocations/dominican-republic/punta-cana/punta-cana-sunrisesunset-may.php

Lindsay - the decor fee I blieve is really anything you want, besides real flowers - those are additional. Just send Mayte photos of what you like and she seems to pretty much match it.  :-)

AH crap - shot myself in the foot.  Pastor York isnt available until 5 so i suppose i'm stuck to that now....  4:30 would have been better because now i'll have 20 min of light afterward but i suppose I can just do some photos before the ceremony instead and get sun set after?  I really need to choose a photographer and ask this stuff to...

Quick Question for the past brides...How much have you tipped Mayte?  Also, did you tip waitstaff and barstaff separately (better yet, how much wait/bar staff was at your wedding)?

I'm just trying to get all of my last minute details together....leaving in 5 days!!!!! JF in 9!!!!

Hi ladies, I'm back :) The wedding was amazing, loved every minute of it. I know you all have questions so feel free to ask, but the first few days back at work are going to be a nightmare so I'll do my best to answer but give me a few days to write the review :)

I haven't been in touch with her in a while but I probably will drop her a line soon with my final count and to plan for meeting with her when we get down there.  We hope to get over there either the Thurs or Fri before (wedding is a sunday) to taste the food, choose our signature cocktail and firm up the final details...

I hear you though, time is flying by!  Working on the "little" details now, hair trials, shoes and jewelry, alterations, out of town bags, etc... I can't wait to get down there! We will have a couple days to ourselves there to relax before the crowd comes and boy do I need the "quiet time"!

Hi Ladies - not sure how many of you follow ***** who is an amazing photographer with her (new) husband in PC. She just got married at the Jellyfish and did a review which is extremely helpful and will help to put you at ease. Not to mention, if you are looking for a photographer and can fit her in your budget her pics are GORGEOUS! Enjoy!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
