Jellyfish Restaurant

Recommended Posts

Past Jellyfish brides that only rented the bottom and beach out.... did randoms end up coming to eat at the restaurant upstairs and did it bother you?

Thanks

Had my wedding a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday night and only rented the bottom part and didn't even notice the guests upstairs.

When we were having dinner someone at the entrance would direct them upstairs and like someone else mentioned it is a small area so you don't really have that many people there. If you have the extra money and privacy is a big concern rent the whole place but personally I don't think it was necessary and this was a Saturday which I am sure is one of their busiest nights. Hope this helps.

Past brides or for anyone that knows for sure... how long is the drive from Majestic to Jellyfish????

I was under the impression it was only about 20min but someone mentioned to me 40min.... what is correct? Big difference :(

@@Mrsoats I just google mapped it. Lol. From Majestic Colonial to Jellyfish it looks to be between 22 and 25 mins. I was trying to find out the same thing from my resort (Now Larimar) so I just looked at the distances on the map. Hope this helps!

@@MrandMrsBonitto2016 I don't know! So here's the issue... because my party is so big now (over 60 guests) the resort wants to serve us buffet style. My fiance feels strongly about having a plated dinner, as our guests are spending so much to fly down and stay at the resort, he thinks that the least they could do is give us a plated dinner on our wedding day! I completely agree. We just didn't think that so many people would go with us so I just assumed that we'd always have the plated option. Additionally, the resort charges EXTRA for buffet style per person, which I find crazy because it takes less work off your servers now that everyone has to make their own plate! So I'm trying to negotiate with the resort and my wedding coordinator, but if they don't budge, I need to have a backup plan! I just hope it's not too late....

I contacted Jellyfish Thursday evening via email about their availability on my wedding day and they haven't got back to me yet. I read through the forum though and realize they are super busy. Just curious, how long did it take them to get back to you?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
