Jellyfish Restaurant

Recommended Posts

congrats! I'd say yes, depending on what you want and whats in that budget. Mayte at Jellyfish works with you and your price range. I'd sy for such a small group you should consider ordering right off the menu. Ill be the first to tell you, email both places NOW and see hat dates they have available. Or better yet, send them a few choice dates and they'll tell you what they have available. It books up quick. Give them at least a week or so to respond. ( I know, crazy) but they are super busy and the farther out you are they kinda backburner you . Yet, no brides complain of the final outcome. ;)

Ok ladies, I called Huracan Cafe today. Apparently, they are like fresh off the boat Italians and barely speak English. I got a different email address from them and sent them an email asking for pricing and availability. My fiance is very against a Monday wedding, so I'm going to see how much Huracan is and if they're available June 29.

I know Katya recommended Huracan, but has anyone else heard anything about them? I would like to speak to a past bride or other brides who are planning it

I am not sure if you had read this reply Katyanova left when I requested some information about Huracan Cafe but you may find it useful:)

We were lookin for a back up in case Jellyfish did not have our date open but we got the great news yesterday!!! Whoot cant wait:)

"Of course love! Sorry for the delay :)

HURACAN CAFE contact is Amore (amoreweddingspuntacana@@gmail.com). I'm putting together a separate post so that I can start a new thread for them, but for now - that's all you need! Without this super talented wedding planner, they are just a restaurant. It's a fabulous alternative, although let's now discuss it on this thread too much, hehe! If you have any specific questions, shoot me an email! katya@@KatyaNova.com xoxo"

Does anyone have a copy/or know how to get a copy of the regular Jellyfish dinner menu?  I have confirmed with Mayte that we will be ordering off of the regular dinner menu instead of paying for the set dinner plates in the wedding package...however, there is no menu on the Jellyfish website.

Please let me know :)

Thank you!

Hi ladies!

I'm back with the answer after chatting about this with Mayte :) Here we go!

The option of offering your wedding guests full Jellyfish menus is only available for small weddings, 20 people or less. I put myself through university serving tables - and can tell you first hand, if the kitchen at any restaurant receives more than about 20 different orders simultaneously, mistakes are bound to happen!! It's much better to have a customized menu, so that Mayte knows just how many fresh lobster tails to bring in specifically for your wedding… or request fresh organic arugula from a nearby farm. Another reason - it's really great when everyone gets a starter, followed by a main course, complete with sides that compliment the entire meal. Mayte is so great at helping you create a varied unique menu that will reflect your personalities, culture, etc. that will undoubtedly impress your guests! Mayte also mentioned that since the regular menu doesn't include 'side' dishes like the wedding menus do, and this always creates confusion with final prices. Having been a Jellyfish bride … and having been a part of so many amazing (and different) weddings there, I say - trust Mayte's process! :))))

Hope this helps you ladies a bit. I'm here for you if there's anything else! Sending sunshine from Punta Cana!

xoxo

I've kinda fallen in love with the place since last June but we kept looking elsewhere. We almost settled on Roatan Island, Honduras but after speaking with our guests, we came back to the Jellyfish and we're hoping to stay at Dreams Palm Beach but it depends on cost. I've been conversing with Mayte for a while now and turn around time for emails has never been more than 2 weeks so be patient ladies, she really knows what she's doing. She really wants to give all her brides as much personal time as possible but there only 24 hours in a day and due to her high demand right now, she's just been completely swamped and she has a daughter as well so just trust her. She hasn't failed a single bride yet and I certainly don't expect her to start failing now. Happy Planning!

AMEN SISTER! :)

Katya, please update us when you start a Huracan thread!  I saw one wedding that you did there, but if you have more than that one (Alexandra and Tyler), please let me know so I can see some more. I called them up and emailed Giacomo Zatti, but I am still waiting to hear back. I am really hoping for a June 29 date... thanks!

If you haven't done so already I'd suggest joining the FB page J.fish brides. It's helpful and Mayte occasionally goes on to send messages.

Hi Katya,

Thanks for that information!  I've been trying to determine how to choose a menu so this is helpful.

I'm only sorry our date isn't available for you to do our photos.  Even my fiancé was impressed by your website and photos and it's been hard to impress him during this wedding process! :)

Hope you enjoy the rest of your summer in PC.  I'll be there in September to check out the hotel and restaurant so i'm looking forward to it!

Jackie

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
