Jellyfish Restaurant

Recommended Posts

Hi! I'm getting married at the Jellyfish in January. Does anyone know if there is a runner or carpet or anything from the Jellyfish holding area to the wedding canopy? I'm trying to figure out if I (and bridesmaids) can wear shoes or not. Also, if I have my dancefloor on the beach, will it be surrounded by sand or is there a patio? Thanks!

400 I finally received a few responses from Mayte after a week or so. Pretty vague but I expected that from reading comments on here. I think we have decided on a date. October 31, 2014. I cannot wait to see the expression on ppl' s faces when they hear we are having a Halloween wedding. Lololol. It's so me to do that. I wanted Nov 1 and it was booked but didn't want to get too near Thanksgiving. So figured Why not? Has anyone been planning a Friday wedding? How's it working out with your guests? I can only assume I have the date reserved. I got a one sentence response from her" the date is yours". Lol! I'm pretty lax but this is going to be interesting

I would rather put that money towards upgarded items for the reception. I am going to use the bride room that was just completed at the Jellyfish to get ready and I have requested for Anna N. (Makup/hair) to come there. It also allows me time to check on the progress of set-up etc...to ensure it is the way I want it and I can work with Mayte in person for any last minute changes or updates...IE: weather/additonal guests etc.... I plan to arrive at the JF around 10am. I have opted not to use much time for "getting ready" photos..honestly this is my second marriage and I had 2 hrs of getting ready in my room and various shots of drinking champagne with bridal party.. for the first wedding and those photos have styed in a box since the day I recevied them..I never framed any or put any of them out. THey were really great to look at but that is about it...I preferred to have reception photos framed. I would rather use my time allotment for full reception converage thatn me in my bra getting into my dress...

So the Bridal dressing room is complete?! That is incredibly exciting. ...especially because those vendor fees are ridiculous!

Does anyone have pictures of the dressing room?

Hi ladies,

Been a minute since I've been on here...between work and home and getting ready for my fiancé to move in, it has been NUTS!  Still working on my save the dates which are officially LATE!  LOL.  But it will all get done soon.

I'm so EXCITED to hear about the bridal suite because i'm starting to not have that much confidence in using the hotel since they aren't giving me enough information.  I still feel a bit up in the air regarding my hotel choice though.

Hope all is going well with everyone! rolleyes.gif

pinkie.gifI canâ€t explain how excited we are that we just confirm our date with Mayte. Now we can send out “save the dates†and start planning. We decide not to tell our guess we will be hosting our wedding off the resort but Iâ€m sure everyone will love Jellyfish, as we did.   This will be an exciting weekend.

I think we are going to do the same. Maybe leave jellyfish invites I their rooms after check in. I also want to dis courage people going to their own resorts if they know the wedding is off property.

Has anyone ever asked Mayte the cost of a buffet? I'm starting to realize my questions to her need to be reaaaally specific. I wrote her " Do you have buffet options? " I don't see them listed. Her response... Yes , .... Lololol . So does anyone have a bit more specifics? Our Families love to eat, I like the idea of them getting a hearty mixed option meal.

I have read in previous posts that the buffet option is more expensive than the set menus, especially the more guests you have. Just something to think about
Yeah. I figured, just wish shed be a bit more specific. We've been trying to pull prices out of thin air. Not to mention that @ least here in the US you negotiate some of these things. Lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
