She is so busy with the brides who are there that it's hard for her to email us all back all the time, well this is what she said to me anyway lol...her only day off this week is Sunday and she's using it to meet with me to go over our wedding! Even though she might not respond she has saved all your emails and she confirmed this with me...I can't wait to get down there (we leave for the airport 3:00 am Sunday) and I will do a huge review and post pics when I'm back!

Congrats Lindsay!! So exciting. I hope your day is perfect. :)

What you said is so true. Last I heard from Mayte, she said she was getting busier and busier everyday. She is truly dedicated to her brides though.

That's also a concern for me, but I have read that other brides have tipped 10% of the total bill to each vendor.

Great thanks Mady!!

That's very exciting!  Less than 2 months to go now.  I received my quote from Mayte today.

Hi Ladies.

Apparently, if you booked in 2012, but did NOT get a firm pre-invoice before 2013, the restaurant will not honor the old pricing for you.. When I booked on Jan 4, 2012, I receive a wedding brochure with the "old" prices. She told me to wait to get the quote until I had firm numbers and not to worry about anything. At no point were we told that the pricing would change, or that getting a pre-invoice was time sensitive.

As everyone knows, communication with Mayte is near impossible. I've heard all all about how incredibly busy she is, so I decided to try to not bother her, and didn't hurry her about that quote (we were keeping our own tabs on pricing and budget based off of the brochure she had sent us.

Now suddenly, Mayte is saying that it's impossible to keep the old prices, since those were from 2009. Now, I know for a fact that brides were being charged these same "2009" prices in December of 2012 for their final invoices.

It's INCREDIBLY frustrating and I can't help but feel like we are being cheated.

Hi Ladies,

Just returned from my wedding last Friday at the Jellyfish. I too was worried because I did not communicate a lot with Mayte but when I arrived there I saw that she had EVERYTHING under control. We had our food tasting and she took our recommendations to modify the food a bit. On the day of the wedding, I was a bit late but she organized everything and even have us the queue for the walk down the aisle.

And last but not least, the decorations were beautiful! I only gave her the colors and didn't give specific instructions and she more than pulled through. I was amazed and so were my guests.

I would gladly recommend her to anyone.

Hi girls,

Same here, communication with Mayte has been very difficult but at least I have 6 months before my wedding, but I understand how frustrating not getting any reassurance that everything is according to plan can be.

I am actually in a bit of trouble because of the lack of communication now because for the past month I have been trying everything I can to get the proper address for the restaurant and nobody knows it and Mayte doesn't get back to me. How did you guys put it in your invites?

Thank you!

Just wanted to let you know Chinese wish lanterns are allowed!! I am so happy! Also if its not too windy she can make a bonfire pit!

It's so great that you are forwarding the new list to some brides, I haven't heard anything about it from Mayte either. Do you mind sending me a copy when you get a chance? camilazev@aol.com Thanks! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
