Our ceremony was at 4:00 and we had the guests meet the shuttle at 3:00 so they were there about 30 minutes before the ceremony or so...

We reserved the entire restaurant (upstairs too) and were happy with that decision, but we had extra room in our budget.  If it's tight, I would say it's not necessary, but I guess that depends on how many guests you will have.  We had about 70 people and I think that would have filled the whole bottom floor regardless.

Hi Darcybride!

I am also going to be staying at the Majestic Elegance for our wedding. And I have heard that both the sunset bar and the sunrise bar are beautiful. The only problem with those bards is that all of your guests would have to be in the elegance club to attend them.

However, a few years ago I stayed at the Colonial, and they share a Lobby area with the Elegance. And I know from experience that the Lobby bar is gorgeous. So that could be an option as well.

Hope this helps!

Would the lobby bar at the colonial be a good spot to meet for welcome drinks? I'm trying to find somewhere low key at the MC to have ppl meet

There are other great bars at the MC, but the lobby bar would the the area that could accommodate a larger crowd, and it has couches and a sitting area around it. Not to mention that it is gorgeous!

Just wondering if anyone who has sent a deposit to Mayte to hold their date could please provide me with the banking info I would need in order to send my deposit? I received an e-mail from Mayte saying she is holding my date but that I needed to send a deposit (whatever amount I wanted, but did not provide me with info on where to send the money too!! I've e-mailed her back several times, but as we all know it can be quite a long time before you hear back, and I want to ensure our date isn't given away!!

Any information would be greatly appreciated, thanks ladies!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
