Jellyfish Restaurant

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I am planning a Catholic ceremony and then reception at the Jellyfish for February 2014.  Mayte gave me two choices for the churches and was wondering if any ladies are doing the same thing, and if so what church they chose?  I think we will be staying at Barcelo Barvaro Palace Deluxe, so not really sure which is a better choice!  Thanks!

Annie1988 - I am doing the same thing as you. We looked at the churches online, and I think we are going with Nuestra Señora del Pilar. It has an older architectural look to it that seems kind of romantic. Might just be me! This one is a little further out, but it looks really nice. I guess they both do. I believe Jesus Maestro is closer to our resorts. I asked Mayte to inquire about my date there for Nov. 2013, but nothing is set in stone yet.

I am new Jellyfish bride here!!

We just got our date confirmed for July 26th, 2013 and signed our contract to stay at the Majestic Elegance!! I'm so excited!!!

I have tried to read everyone's posts here and it is amazing how your descriptions about Mayte were dead on! She just seems very passionate about what she does and after having so many issues with trying to do what we wanted at the Majestic Elegance, I could not have been more pleased to have found the Jellyfish as a better option!

I'll post as our plans move along but I have a couple of quick questions for past brides:

1) our main concern is how hot it will be in July and the fact that the place is not airconditioned. Mayte said that it should not be a concern because it's very breeze there but I know that every wedding I've been to, once you start to dance, it always feels like the air conditioning is not enough and I would hate to have people complaining it's too hot! Any thoughts?

2) I can't seem to find a proper address for them, does anybody know?

Thank you!

Hi ladies! I don't know why my first post didn't appear here! I have my date reserved for July 26th at the jellyfish for my symbolic ceremony and reception. We will have around 70 guests and we'll be staying at Majestic Elegance. Mayte has been very helpful and the Jellyfish just seemed like a place where we could do our wedding our way vs. the Elegance where the wedding planners were constantly saying no to a lot of our requests.

I look forward to hearing from you guys and sharing our experiences and to start, I have 2 questions:

1) does anybody know the actual address of the restaurant? (not the short address that's on the website, that won't work to add it to my wedding website maps)

2) for any past brides; did you have your dance floor inside or outside? Was it really that breezy? Were there fans inside? I'm just worried it would be too hot in the middle of July, especially once people start dancing.

Thank you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
