Jellyfish Restaurant

Recommended Posts

What did people do for a dancefloor?  We are trying to decide whether to have a dance floor on the beach (if so, what kind) or in the restaurant and wanted any feedback you have...thanks! :-)
We kept the dance floor inside and there was tons of space. It did get really warm though. Mayte had a second dance space and bar set up outside so that we could move out there if we chose to. So we did have the options available to us. We didn't do fuschia with the lime, but we did turquoise with lime. My pictures are in here somewhere or in my profile if you want to check them out for any ideas...

So I just found out that Jellyfish will be open during my wedding/reception (which are on the beach). I didn't know this happened and i've been too busy to really email to ask more details as we're getting married first week of November. Anyone know if this affects the wedding at all? does it get busy? I'm not overly worried, just curious.

Also - if anyone needs a photographer in Nov/December 2012, my photographers will be staying in Punta Cana and are not charging travel fees for weddings. They are awesome and we just shot our engagement photos last week and had a blast!!  www.jonplusheather.com

The restaurant is always open during weddings unless you pay the extra $1000 to reserve the entire restaruant.  When we had our reception it was open.  We had the first floor and outside.  All guests that were coming for dinner were directed to the 2nd level.  Honestly we saw about 5 people eating dinner during that time.  We even had gone upstairs to do some of our photos and there were only 2 tables occupied.

Later in the evening when dancing started, a dad and his small daughter did come out to the dance floor.  I personally didn't mind.  It wasn't a bother to me, but if it was I'm sure Mayte would have let him know that it was a private party.  other than that I never noticed any of the other people that visited the restaurant.

I think if you are a VERY private person it may be an issue... but is wasn't for me.  I Definitely do not think it is worth the extra $1000 to rent the whole place.

Awesome! That is pretty much what my colours are as well..coral tan & small pops of teal...I just haven't seen pics of anyone who has done coral...are you finding it hard to find good coral colours? I'm trying to find mens ties, chair sashes for our resort ceremony, paper umbrellas etc and I find alot of the coral colours they are offering are either way too pink or pretty much straight up orange...it's driving me nuts lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
