I was looking for a resort close to Jelly Fish. If you don't mind sharing which resort did you stay at when you visited?

Thanks,

We stayed at IFA Villas Bavaro.  I used GPS to map to Jellyfish and it said it was 4 hours away when actually it was right next door.  All the employees at IFA are super nice.  It's not the Hard Rock, but for the price we paid it was awesome.  We stayed 7 nights and paid $710 per person.  This included not only the resort but roundtrip air from Cincinnati and private transfers from airport to hotel and back.  PM me and I can give you the name of the company we used.  They only fly out of Nashville, Cincinnati, and Atlanta, but if you could get a cheap flight to ATL their airfare is cheaper than any I have found.

Hi All!  I'm having my wedding in Punta Cana in March and I'm now thinking about moving my reception from one of the resorts to jellyfish.  Does anyone know how far in advance they get booked?  I'm 7 months away and starting to stress because i love this location and think it will be perfect for us!  I've tried contacting Mayte a few times and haven't heard back.  Any feedback on how far they're already booked for 2013 would be a great help!

THanks!

No, it's not air conditioned, but it is open air (they can raise or lower the sail-like walls - does that make any sense?!?).  Yes, you can rent just the downstairs and I believe it is $500.

We were there the first week of August and even at lunch time it was cool.  A really good breeze blows through since it is elevated and open air.

I booked mine for March 31 about a month and a half ago.

Hi Hanalulu,

I'm staying at the Majestic Elegance and decided not to use any outside Makeup/Hair stylists because of the vendor day pass fees and travel fees to get them to the resort. I am paying the day pass for my photographer, cause that was more important to me.

I plan on getting my hair done at the resort - I have read on here that if you bring pictures with you and even set up a trial when you get down there a couple days before your wedding, everything comes out great on your wedding day!

I am more particular with my makeup, so I recently went to Sephora and got bridal makeup done. They did a look for me and wrote down everything I needed to buy and I'll be buying it all before we go. I plan on doing my makeup myself because I am confident in that and seeking some help from girlfriends if needed.

Hope that helps!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
