I need a favor... Any past brides or current ones that have already received detailed quotes from Mayte willing to share or compare with me, can you please pm me? I just received my quote and it was A LOT higher than I estimated or expected and something doesn't seem right.  almost like all the prices were raised by a lot.  I was hoping that a recent bride would be willing to share with me some of the numbers they were quoted to see if I either need to suck it up or cut things out of the list to scale down or if I'm indeed getting charge more than I should. I have already written back to Mayte with questions, but I know it will probably be a week before I hear back and my FI is freaking out at the quote. I know budget isn't something everyone is willing to share, but I feel so in the dark and don't know if my expectations were wrong or what. thanks for any help! -Jen

Just confirmed our Jan 21, 2013 date!  YAH!  So excited!  Mayte's confirmation email made me smile ear to ear! 

 

Is anyone using Mayte's contact for hair/makeup?  I think the resort (Dreams Palm Beach) would likely be much cheaper but I don't know.

The price list I have (which is the one currently being used) is the older one that's posted on here.  I have it saved on another computer if you want me to repost it I can later.  In regards to my actual quote, We were able to choose different options that brought our cost down considerably.

When you get back I'd also love to find out if you pre-wired $ or had to bring the remainder in cash with you....  and if you used a photographer from DR (struggling with this one)

Hi Lala, I used Michael and Pascal of Caribbean Emotions, and honestly, they were so fantastic!!! Plus we had all of our pictures, our wedding book and our video (and copies) back 5 days after the wedding. Our "trailer" for Jellyfish is on here (just a bunch of pages back) and there is a photo slide show too. Both can be found on Youtube if you want to see them. I'm pretty sure you can search "Caitlin and Joseph May 9, 2012". One is the ME and the other is Jellyfish...

Lala- we brought cash for the jellyfish and photog (also used Caribbean Emotions) Sdj- you can use Mayte's office to change. There's couches and things in there, it has A/C and you can lock the doors. Ladies, wedding was beautiful! Cannot say enough good things about Mayte, the JF, the food and drinks... Every guest has said they had an amazing time and totally thought we made the right choice by going off resort! As I'm writing this we just watched probably our 15th or so wedding at the resort! lol! I'll give you more details and pics after I get home. Feel free to ask any questions though and I'll answer them when I get a chance =)
