Hey ladies!! I had my meeting with Mayte yesterday and OMG!!!!! She has been super busy with weddings, so be patient with her. Everything for your weddings will be perfect! Heck, she showed up a half hour late but it was ok because she's that good. You will eventually hear back. Oh, and the food and drinks are ridiculously good! ;) P.S. weather is great in PC!!!! Can't wait till Wednesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG!  I agree!  I was talking with my fiance last night and he said the same thing.

I understand she's good at what she does and we shouldn't worry... however, I'm sure you all can relate... as a bride just a few weeks from her wedding I have a ton of questions that I need answered.  Some involve having to order certain things and I can't order them with out the information from her and I'm afraid I won't be getting my items in time.

I think an assistant is almost a necessity now!

My wedding isn't for 10 more months, but I can't imagine how stressful it must be to not hear from her a month away from the big date!

I have an email out to her as well.  Will keep you posted if I hear anything!

I know she's busy, but I know I can't be the only one waiting for information.

I also heard that she has 24 weddings in June.. I understand that it's a popular place, but you would think that they would have built in time to respond to people....  I'm not worried that things wont turn out...

I'm just hoping to get some answers...  Most of my questions I need Mayte to answer, but I'm going to post a few here that maybe someon has asked in the past and they can pass on the answers:

1) I want to have paper lanterns hanging... do you know if they have them in Fuchsia and Orange? Or would I need to bring them?

2) How are the tables set up?  How many people sit at a table?  I wanted to make my own escort cards and possibly table #s so I need to figure out seating to do that. Are the tables usually set up the same or does it change from wedding to wedding?

I TOTALLY understand that she's busy! As a professional who get's lot's of client requests of my own, I understand how it's hard to reply to people sometimes. HOWEVER, my clients, although sometimes needy and wanting quick replies, don't have major life-changing events to plan!!! I get that she's busy, and that she's AWESOME, but if it takes 2-3 weeks for her to reply to somebody who is getting married in a month, she ABSOLUTELY should get some help!

I have been holding off on sending inquiries because I figured she was busy with weddings happening this month and this summer.. but now I wonder if I should just go ahead and start asking questions I need to know now...

Venus - I don't know for sure but I'm fairly confident she has paper lanterns in the colours you need... I didn't even ask for them and she asked me the day before if I wanted them - she had them in my colours (purple and orange).... so at least I know 100% that she has orange. I'm pretty sure she has tons of decorations.

As for the tables, I only really figured that out the day before as well. I had differnt numbers of people at different tables and really wanted the square tables - but they only really look right with 8 people. Some tables I had 6 people, others 7, others 8. We decided the day before to use both square and round tables - I thought this would look stupid but she put it together very well. My seating plan stayed the same in terms of names and table numbers, just the layout and types of tables changed the day before. So unless you have a really weird amount of people at your tables, I think it's safe to say you can go ahead and make your table numbers and you and Mayte can figure out how to organize it when you meet with her down there.

Hope that helps a bit...

HA HA... that's exactly what I did... I figured I wouldn't send her a bunch of stuff a long the way since she is busy with others and that I'd send it as I got close, but now that I need the answers it's taking forever...  It really did seem like before she replied a lot faster :/

I'd recommend you send her your questions as you go along.. this way if it takes her three weeks it won't be a big deal and when you need the information you'll have it ;)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
