Jellyfish Restaurant

Recommended Posts

I just booked Corres films for my wedding. So excited. I have looked at all the options for months, and I have to say that Corres films looks the most consistently professional (no shaky digi-cam type shots for the whole thing!) I love their samples and I feel completely confident that they will do a great job.

The 3-4 minute trailer comes free with their top package (gold), but can be added on to any other package. To me, this is the most important part so I will for sure be getting this. So easily shareable and I can recreate the emotion of the day in under 5 minutes. Awesome!

I would definitely check them out!

Hi Ladies,

My first post!

I am wondering if anyone knows if there is a cost to have just the downstairs for the reception?  I know to rent the whole restaurant is $1000.

Also, did anyone try the local bar option?  If so, how was it?

Thanks!

Hey Ash,

Welcome to the board! If you're just using the downstairs, it is no extra cost... just the regular cost of decoration, which is $500 unless you are over 50 people.

As for trying the local bar, I have not been there yet but that is what I'm going with. From what I understand Mayte is so accomodating, that I'm going with that option but allowing people to order anything else and just adding that to the bill - I only have a few guests who would care enough to order the 'higher end' stuff :)

Hello JELLYFISH brides!!!

I just came back from my wedding there and I would have to say, it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! All the posts on this forum about Mayte and her ability to make your dream come true is exactly that and more!!! Everyone at the Jellyfish, especially Mayte, are very accommodating to your wishes, wants, and needs! A+++++++++!!! ALL.....and I literally mean ALL of my guests (83 of them) are still talking about the wonderful time they had especially at the Jellyfish! Everyone loved it! They are all still in awe of such a beautiful reception, beautifully decorated, amazing DJ and staff, and awesome MC! I will post a more in depth review in a couple of days, but I just want to let all you future Jellyfish brides....DO NOT WORRY! If Mayte doesn't respond right away, don't you worry...she will...her popularity for wedding coordinating is getting so big...she's becoming a very busy girl but she will nonetheless get back to you. Aside from taking care of her beautiful Luna, she is either taking care of her brides on their wedding day or running around for them to make sure each bride is getting exactly what they requested. She got exactly what I wanted and captured my vision and more. I'll leave you with some pictures of our day including some at the Jellyfish!

I HIGHLY recommend ***** Nova Photography!! Amazing couple that take beautiful photos and who are also set to get married at the Jellyfish as well in April!!! And being a bride herself, ***** understands and is VERY accommodating to your wishes and wants!  My videographer was Florian from Video Punta Cana, he did a wonderful job with my video as well :) Florian is very kind, nice, easy-going and a hard worker. If you are on a budget for Video and would still love to have good quality, I recommend him :) Once again, I'll post a more in depth review in a couple of days, in the meantime, enjoy!! :)

Thanks Astef!

I have been emailing back and forth with Mayte over the past few days.  She has not been hard to get a hold of so far.  Perhaps she's taking a break between weddings?

I like your idea of going with the local bar option and allowing guests to choose if they want something higher end.

I am so glad I was advised to check out Jellyfish for the reception.  In the beginning, I wanted to have everything at the resort (Dreams Palm Beach) until I realized that the reception would be cut off at 10:30 and could only be 3 hours long.  Also, the taxes are CRAZY!

We're going to be having our ceremony and cocktail hour at Dreams Palm Beach and then over to Jellyfish for our reception.

I have yet to put down the 10% deposit because we're unsure of the estimated cost.  Mayte says my date is locked, so I hope everything will work out!

That's right there is one $500 fee for the ceremony setup and a $500 for the reception set up.

It looks as though you are doing your whole wedding at Jellyfish.  Does the beach ceremony fee of $500 include decor, and then another $500 fee for decor inside?  I'm just curious!  Thanks.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
