Jellyfish Restaurant

I know there are a few girls getting married there this month so hopefully one will chime in.  But I would suggest you don't put times on the Save the dates.  I would just include the date.  Alot can change in the next year as far as what you want and how you want the day to pan out.  On my save the dates I only included the Date, Location and Venue.

Not sure if that helps...

Can you please give me a general timeline of when you are having your ceramony, cocktail hour, and dinner reception?  What did you put on your invites?  I am about to order save the dates for my Nov 9, 2012 at the Jellyfish and I am just looking for a right time to tell the designer who is doing my invitations.  I want to be sure that I have enough time for some pictures after the ceramony before the sun sets :)

Hi Bittersweet,

I'm getting married on NOV 27th. I did not include timelines on my STDs. Just like Venus909 said, a lot can change in 1 year - and believe me it does!!! I think the sun sets at 6:30pm in Punta Cana in November. Our ceremony is at 4:00PM (I still want it to be sunny out for pictures and video), afterwards we will have cocktail hour from 4:30-5:30, during this time we will be taking pictures. Our dinner/reception will start around 5:30-6:00ish, after we sneak in a few sunset shots.

Hope this helps . . .

Hi ladies,

My fiance and I are considering getting married at the Majestic Elegance, but now that I've stumbled across the Jellyfish, I'm tempted to do something off resort - for the reception at least.  It seems like a lot of brides on this thread are staying at the ME and then having all or part of the wedding at Jellyfish.  I wondered what your motivation was for having some or all of it off resort.  Were you unhappy with the service of the ME?  Didn't think they could do as nice a job as JF?  Price?  Just wondered what other brides out there are thinking.

What's drawing me in to JF is the lovely pics that I see with beautiful setups where everything seems to be included for the $500 decoration fee.  Some of the pics of the resort setups don't look quite as cute once you compare to JF!

TIA for the input!

My fiance really wanted to stay at ME (we were between ME and Dreams). Once we started adding everything up at ME it was similar to having a more intimate and personable setting at the Jellyfish.  It seems like the resorts nickle and dime everything! If we were paying for our guest to eat and drink, why not do it outside of the resort? I wanted to stay at dreams and have the free ceremony (we won't qualify for free at ME) and then have the reception at Jellyfish but we decided to do it all at the Jellyfish and stay at ME

If possible, can someone that has successfully done a wire transfer with the Jellyfish PM the Bank Transfer infoto me?  They sent me the info, but it's missing their zipcode and I'm a little unsure about some of the spelling.  I need to do a wire transfer to them this morning and I don't want it to be delayed.

Thanks!

Wow, thanks for sharing Megs!! I leave in 10 days!!! I can't wait for my turn. Looking at these pictures brings so much joy to me - especially when I know I made the right choice in choosing to have my wedding & reception at the JF restaurant!!

Venus909: I have the bank wire transfer info if you want it. I'll PM you. ;)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
