Jellyfish Restaurant

Recommended Posts

I signed up for international calling and called the Jellyfish today. Of course our date is taken, but she is going to get back to me once she confirms that. I would also like a price list if anyone has it!!! dariannk@yahoo.com  Some of the prices are listed here http://www.jellyfishrestaurant.com/JELLYFISH_WEDDING_BROCHURE.pdf

but not all the prices are there. I would also love to see a current menu!

We may have a conflicting problem. I'm also getting married on that day and have already confirmed with Mayte about having my reception there. Have you heard back from her yet?

Although, thrilled to hear someone else getting married on the same day as me!

Thanks so much for your helpful thoughts and suggestions. Our wedding date is scheduled for 2/20/12 and we booking at the Majestic Elegance.   After looking at the most recent wedding pics posted on the Jellyfish FB page I have started getting so excited about seeing what Mayte does for our wedding decor.  She clearly is amazing at what she does!

I concure on hiring Mayte's DJ, and am sure that everyone will be dancing all night long even if I had only an ipod playing so having a DJ is just icing on the cake.

I loved the outdoor lounge idea, but wondering if the indoor dance floor is possible if you have a big group attending the wedding?  I kind of invisioned that space would be where people would be sitting to eat.  Anyone know if that's the case or is the indoor dance floor seperate from the dining area?

Can't wait and am getting so excited to see more pics of all our weddings as well!

Vav,

My heart just dropped.

I am attaching the confirmation I received from Mayte for that date. If you have one as well, we should probably reach out to her together and figure out what to do :-(
Let me know if you want to connect privately via email to figure this out.

Fingers crossed there's a happy ending to this.

Vav and Sherio, not sure if this helps calm the nerves, but if you guys didn't reserve the whole restaurant for the $1000 fee, it's possible that the both of you could be having your reception there at the same time... Especially since Vav said she was having her ceremony at the resort and not at the Jellyfish.  I would still reach out to Mayte, but it sounds like it's quite possible that you both could be there at the same time....  I hope that's the case and not that one of you didn't get it :-(

Jen,

Thank you for calming the nerves.

We are indeed having our ceremony there so perhaps this is the case.

I hope we can all fit too :-)

Sorta funny, cause I reserved the space back in April, but had this funny feeling that I should confirm again.
A woman's intuition is never wrong.

Oh! I hope this all gets figured out for you both and that Jen is right!

We are just beginning to plan our wedding at the Jellyfish for Feb 2012, little behind the game (we recently switched from Mexico)

Sherio, do you know how much extra it is to have your ceremony at Jellyfish? We have our own minister, but I assume they charge for set up?? I am trying to convince my FI to take advantage of the free ceremony at the resort and then reception at Jellyfish.BUT, the resort he wants does not offer a free ceremony (we are debating between Dreams Palms- free ceremony; or the Majestic Elegance)

Thanks for any info!

Free ceremonies at the resorts aren't always free, you have to pay for the decor still I believe// or brides just buy it and bring it with them... you have to pay outside vendor fees if you are using a photographer down there..as far as the Jellyfish, we pay Mayte and she takes care of everything.  I think it depends on how many people but it is listed on the brochure how much.

I just looked at another brochure that has the prices listed (one I had did not) and it's $500 for the ceremony at Jellyfish. I don't know if that would be any different if you have your own minister? We would have between 30 an 35 people and I would want chairs, not the pillows so I don't know if that is an additional cost? For the free ceremony at the resort, I wouldn't care if there aren't decorations as it would just be for the ceremony. we can enjoy the decorations at Jellyfish, looks like she does a great job!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
