I didn't pay the charge for their end and when they accepted it, they tried to take that charge off my deposit balance...I argued that fact and they didn't end up taking it off.

Be careful ladies, they will try to make you pay for their charge to accept the transfer, which I don't think it's fair since you already paid a fee. Mine was $30 as well (from Canada).

Good luck!

What - I will freak out if she tries to charge me any more money for the wire transfer.  I am already going to ask her to deduct the $30 from my final bill - it isn't my fault she uses Wire transfers and not Paypal.  wow - this is the first time in my whole wedding planning I am actually pissed off.  I don't like when people try to do things behind my back - I will NOT be impressed is she tries to charge me.

MBbride - how does Mayte make try to make you pay the transfer on her end - does she put it on your final bill?

bam - I paid to do the wire on my end which is $30 CAD, there is an additional fee Mayte has to pay on her end which I did not allow to be charged to me - I don't know how much that fee is.  And yes, I assume you have to pay her American, she will not accept Canadian money

Did Mayte send you guys a seperate email with the bank info? She didn't send it to me in my preinvoice.. I saw that you guys said its Bank of America.. I have an account through them so I'm wondering if I even have to do a wire transfer or If I can just send it from my account to theres without a fee.. I do agree the fee is a little ridiculous.. how are you guys planning on paying on the day of your reception?

These are some answers that Mayte gave me: Her anwers are in red.

What forms of payment do you accept? American cash, visa credit card, etc?

Restaurant staff food and drinks, you can pay with transference or credit card, services has to be paid in cash the wedding day.

When you say we pay credit card for food and drinks, do you accept visa?
When we pay cash for services, is american cash ok?

Credit card, could be visa or american express and for cash dollars, yes!!

That's crazy that you would have to pay $60 to organize a wire transfer to Mayte. I agree that you should definitely NOT pay the $30 on their end - especially if you paid it already on your end. I noticed that the info goes to a Florida address too! Very weird. I wonder if Mayte would accept a money order instead. I just wish we had more options than this!!

Hi girls! Just had my wedding there Saturday. It was AMAZING. STill have to write my review but you will NOT be disappointed. Everyone is still talking about my wedding. Just wanted to let you know that we wire some of the money, paid some of the money in bank checks, and did the rest in cash. Not sure if there was a fee for wiring because my parents did it, I will find out. Hope that helps! Oh and they said we could pay by credit card but then said they couldnt when we got there- so Im not sure what the deal is. Any questions- feel free to PM me!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
