Hey Ladies,

In case any of you are wondering what the ceremony & reception decorations include, please see Mayte's response below from an email I received from her:

As for decorations, what does the ceremony decorations include? What color options do you have for tulles/flowers/chair sashes, etc?

Bamboo tent in wedding colors, decoration tent, cahirs cover cahirs and sashes in wedding colors, ceremony table and centerpieces, carpet for the aisle, decoration aisle, tikki torches with decorations, lounge area on the beach, with white sofas, pillow and tikki torches.
For the decoration indoors, what does this include: tables/chairs/napkins/centerpieces, ect?
Linen, napkin and sashes in wedding colors, chirs and cover chairs, decorations napkin, menu cards, names cards, centerpieces, decorations, candles, tables cake, wellcome table, longe inside for dance floor, decoration entrance and restaurant area. You have a lots of pictures in Jellyfish Fa ce book.   I also asked how much it would cost to rent only the downstairs part of the restaurant instead of having the exclusive use of the restaurant for $1000, she said it was $500 instead. This info was not on the brochure she gave me.   Hope this info helps some of you and happy planning!! cheer2.gif   Cheers, Mel

Hi ladies.. just wondering what you were planning on doing for music for your reception.  We were planning on using our ipod instead of the DJ.. but when I asked Mayte about that, she said we would have to pay $400 to use their sound equipment.. didn't really make sense to me since using the DJ is $600.. past brides what did you do?

Our ceremony is at 3PM so I really didn't want to make it into such a long day, if we use the DJ then we would stay until like 11PM and we were planning on ending around 9PM after dances, cake cutting, and some dancing.. and then whoever wants can continue to party with us at the resort. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I opted for a DJ - but my wedding isn't starting until 5 and it will go all night long - so the DJ was an easy pick.  If it is only a difference of 200 dollars I would def use the DJ - it will change the whole vibe of your wedding and I bet the guests will love it!

I paid my deposit today finally, but was a little annoyed as I had to do a wire transfer because Mayte doesn't have paypal.  It cost me $30 just to do the transfer.  I really don't feel as though I should have to pay $30 out of my pocket because she decided to have payment by wire.

Do you guys agree?

Hey guys,

I am also getting ready to wire the money to her. I have no idea what to do. Did you walk into your normal bank and give them the bank of america info. that Mayte gave us? Anyone that did this can you please explain the process? Did you get a receipt or confirmation? Thanks!

Hey guys - yes I just took the information that Mayte gave me - it is for a bank in Florida (kinda strange).  I just told the teller I needed to wire transfer money, told her I wanted to do it in US currency (I am from Canada) and then gave her the info Mayte gave me.  It took about 10 minutes for her to input all the information, she made me look it over and then she sent it.  She told me it would cost me $30 CAD to send the money and said there is a charge at Mayte's for her to accept the deposit - she asked if I wanted to pay for that charge and I said no.  I think Mayte should have told me there was going to be a charge on my end, because I had no idea and it really bothered me.

Hope this helps you guys.

Natalie

Thanks Natalie,

It def. does help! So did you end up paying the $30 or is that when you said you wouldn't pay it and will let Mayte deal with it?. I'd be interested in seeing if she would say anything about her having to pay it. Did you just go to your normal local bank to do the transfer or does it have to be a specific bank?

Thanks again

Brooke

p.s. Does anyone know if all cash exchanges with Mayte is american cash?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
