Info from the Cuban Consulate

Hey ladies,

I got some info regarding the amount of time you have to be in Cuba before you can get married. I've read a couple of different answers some saying 2 days, some 3.

The Cuban Consulate in Toronto informed me that:

"You donâ€t need to stay an specific amount of time for getting married in Cuba. If you both single all you need is a valid passport"

Hope this helps some of you!

Wow, it would have been nice if they told me that in the beginning, lol. Before all the hassle of trying to figure out when we could be married that wouldnt have to fall on a weekend. I was under the impression it had to be 3 days as well. Great Info for future brides!

Thanks for posting this information. I am sorry if this is a stupid question, but I just want to clarify what is actually required for getting married in Cuba.

You need:

Valid Passports

Birth Certificates

My fiance is divorced so we have a copy of the divorce certificate

What do we need to have translated?

Thanks!

You need to get a certified copy of his divorce certificate made here in Canada (by a notary public or lawyer). Send that to the Cuban Embassy in Toronto and they'll translate it in Spanish and certify it. I'm pretty sure it cost us $400 even, but check the total with them for sure before you send it, I had my money order made out for a little more than what they needed and they had to send it back for me to do a new one. Tho I just noticed you are located in Toronto, so maybe you can just bring it by there... that'd be much easier. Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
