Welcome and congrats!! I'm in a similar position, fiance is getting his PhD so we're trying to keep the costs low.. We're thinking Jamaica bc you dont have to get any documents translated, but haven't made a decision yet. Good luck with your planning!

Thanks!! You too....my parents had their honeymoon in Jamaica and loved it. Of course, that was 34 years ago, but how much could change in that time, right? I'm sure it will be awesome.

        Hi Nicola,

Wow! You're getting married May 2011 and already have it booked, eh? Am I way behind? We are thinking April/May 2011 too, and I'm just starting to think about it now.

Hi Katrina. Congrats on your engagement! I was in the same confused spot as you when we got engaged. But a wonderful person I know refered me to this forum. It is so Great. Your will find so many ideas you wont know what to do with them all. lol!

I had a cousin get married in the Dominican. It was very nice. Two co-workers of mine got married in the Mexico. And they had wonderful and magical times there. And they were both reasonable prices. I am getting married in the bahamas. So there is lots of choices out there, you just have to figure out where you invision your wedding and where you would rather go.

Good luck on this journey. Enjoy it all.

Welcome to the forum !!! We are getting married in punta cana ! We chose The Majestic Colonial Punta Cana resort for a couple of reasons. It is VERY reasonable price wise for all of our guests and they also allow kids which we needed as well. The resort is beautiful ! Ive read many great reviews about this resort ! Definately worth checking out in my biased opinion
