My Trip To China Town - Toronto

Recommended Posts

I went to China Town in Toronto yesterday. It was a pretty successful trip. I got fans, a head piece, veil and cake topper (I still want a star fish one as well, I have to keep looking). I still need a lot of things, but I feel good about what I got.

Anyway, these are the fans I got.

They were $0.90 each. They were marked $1 and I talked her down (I know its only 10 cents, but its something). If anyone want to know the store I got them at, I got her card so let me know. I am going to wrap ribbon around them, I am just not sure if I want the pink or the brown. I chose these fans over the palm ones because these close up so they are so easy to carry. I loved the palm ones, but this is so much easier.

Also, here is a bad picture of my veil, I will get my sister to take one of me wearing it soon. My veil was on sale for $35 and I love it. Not sure if I am going to get my mom to remove the top layer and just keep the finger tip layer. I will take pics of it both ways and you guys can help me decide.

And, here is an even worse pic of my headpiece. I should have done my hair first, but its a huge mess, so ignore that. It was hard to take on my own head, and its bad, but I gave up. My sister will take one of these for me as well. This picture does not do it justice, I love it. It was only $20 (I saw the same one at a bridal shop for $125).

This is the cake topper I got, it came to $20 with tax so I am pretty happy about that.

Shelley, I tried to get you a starfish pin, no where had them.

Laura, they had white parasols and almost all stores, and even one with an awesome cherry blossom on it and they were all $2.99. I did not see plain white fans, but I did see a lot of really nice white paper lanters, even little ones on strings and ones with cherry blossoms on strings for really cheap.

They also had a lot of T-shirts, good ones, for 6 for $10, so if you are making them for your guests, go get them there.

If anyone has any questions, let me know.

Good deals!

Did you get two initials for the cake top or just one?
I just got 1. I have no idea how big that cake is going to be and I do not want to squish it on, so I just got the initial for our last name.

My vote is for just one layer for your veil, it is very pretty...
Thank you, I agree, 1 layer for veil and both ribbons. I just wanted to know what others thought.

Glad you found so many deals~
I saw them at lots of places. Most stores hardly have names, so I can't really remember them. But, I could go with you, or when you go I could give you the basic area to check.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
