I tried hot yoga for the first time last Sunday (first time doing yoga ever, actually). It was a 90 minute class and I really enjoyed it but I found I don't really sweat much. Everyone else around me seemed to be just dripping in sweat (fi's clothes were soaked) I got a little sweaty mostly on my face and hairline.I don't normally sweat a lot even in gym, I just never have. Lol sorry TMI, but I'm just wondering if I get the same calorie burning benefits of the heat if my body doesn't sweat? My trainer said it might be due to dehydration but I drank 2 litres of water before class. I'm going to try upping it to 3 next time.

Also it's crazy expensive here - $17 for a 90 minute class.

I go to Moksha Yoga in Edmonton and its AMAZING! My instructor said that you can burn on average 500 - 600 calories an hour which is comparable to a 10KM run! I am so impressed with that! I am going to buy a heart rate monitor one day to test this theory. In 2 weeks I have lost 3 lbs of my 10 lbs to loose... Only two months to go, eek. Should have started earlier! :o)

Hey Canadiansandy!

I thought I would let you know where the Moksha Studios are in Calgary, cuz from my experience here in Edmonton, they are AMAZING! They have a trial pass that you can buy for $20 that gets you unlimited yoga for a week, that way your not too committed before you decide if its for you :)

bikram yoga is really great! at first it was hard to get used to and going to the 90 min classes just seemed forever. but i've been doing it for 6 months now and i'm used to it and i feel i am benefiting alot mentally from it. (as well as phsycially). it's a great way to actually clear your mind and not even realize it! and i love how much you sweat. never realized i could sweat that much!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
