We're going to the Majestic Colonial in Feb 2011 and love what I've read about it so far. I'd like the adult only section at the Elegance for me and my FI but the Colonial has everything we need. This forum has a few threads for these resorts with endless information. I agree the Facebook page is great to.

I was married at the Elegance this January. The Elegance is newer (opened end of 200cool.gif compared to the Colonial, therefore the Elegance is more expensive. While we were there we went over to the Colonial and the resort is starting to show it's age but is still a wonderful hotel (lovely pools, GREAT beach, food is food).

Hi,

I am getting married at the Majestic Elegance on May 19, 2010. While both look amazing, I liked the look and feel of the Elegance better. It is a little more pricier then the Colonial but the rooms and ground look AMAZING! My photographer has raved on this place. Also, the Elegance does allow kids. My sister is bringing her three kids. I believe the Colonial is catered more towards families, however the Elegance welcomes kids as well. You can opt to get a room on the adult only section which is a bit pricier but gives you access to additional restaurants, pools and butler service. It seems like a nice added touch to a wedding/honeymoon!

I can't wait! I would def. recommend it. I will post further reviews after the wedding. If anyone has pictures or additional information they want to share about the elegance I would love to see them. I usually just participate in the Majestic Colonial thread since the two resorts are so similar. But it would be nice to hear any specifics on the Elegance.

Thanks!!

Hi,

We are also getting married at the Elegance in June. We visited in November and had a great time- the grounds were lovely, and pools/beach great. We also have a couple children attending- the only area children are not permitted at the Elegance is the Elegance Club (and perhaps the Gourmand restaurant?) We took lots of pics during our site visit and met with one of the wedding coordinators- if you are interested please let me know and I'll send you the link/info.

Good Luck!

It is a beautiful resort!  Although children are allowed, they are not all over the place, and while we were there they were all well behaved.

The entertainment throughout the day is very upbeat, although it got a little MTV Spring Break with a bikini contest one day.  Not a big deal, it was all in good fun, and the employees who were the MC's were hilarious.

The food is good and the beach is gorgeous!  We were there for a wedding.  Let me know if you'd like to see pictures and I'll be glad to send some to you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
