Some of my friends have asked and I mentioned the pass. My mom said some of her friends have asked and she wanted to know WHY but I just told her that is a common policy at AI resorts.

So I guess it's going by word of mouth, but I think that that at a last resort I will add it to my website.

My situation was similar, but its FI's fam that lives in the DR, the day pass is only $50 at my resort, but we are telling his family that if they want to attend the wedding they should stay for the night. They can book for 1 night for $65-$95 per person, might as well enjoy 20 hrs of leisure time. :)

I gave notice to my guests on both my website and invitations. On the invites, I just said something like if you are not staying at the host resort you will be required to purchase a day pass directly from the resort. On the website I said basically the same thing but I also included the price of the day pass.

Yeah maybe I am just not proper but I think if some guests decide to book last minute to save a few bucks and end up not being at the same resort as me, I am not going to be out that same few bucks for their day pass! But that's me...and my non proper ways! lol.

I wish I was more on the ball on this one. I didn't even think about this issue until NOW!

Now I have 10 ppl booked elsewhere and our resort charges $95 for a day pass! That's $10,000 if I am going to cover it. That's ridiculous! I guess I will just give those people a call and let them know that they will have to pay their own day pass. Oh god! I feel so bad.

Wish I would have thought of this 6 months ago. I definatly would have put it on the invites, STD and website!

I'm in the same boat now and wondering what I should do. 8 ppl, my FI's cousins, are staying at a rental house nearby. I just found this out and apparently my FI never told them they would have to pay to get in for the wedding. I never thought of mentioning it on my website, I only mentioned the resort with the TA info for booking there and they never asked me otherwise.

I feel bad making them pay, but us paying for all 8 is just too much. I think I'll have my FI tell them they need to buy the day pass themselves but have him mention that they can use if all day there. Maybe they won't be upset about paying it they can make a day of it. They can snorkel, hang out by the pool, eat and drink all they want, then get ready in someone's room before the wedding since it's not until 5.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
